Out of only one reason: 50k weren't shipped. It'll do at least 80k man.

Another Code R is closer to a point and click adventure game than a RPG...
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
barozi - actually it isnt expected at all . ninja blade definitely looks like itd appeal to japanese more and 360 owners also own ps3s so 360 exclusives shouldnt have problems selling at ps3 sw levels.
shams you say lets be fair but then you say the game was made to appeal to the japanese. you say lets be fair but then you say its high budget.

No, it won't. With a 23k opening, it will sell between 30k and 35k first week, provided they were able to ship more units to retailers.
And with it opening at 30-35k, how is it going to manage beyond a 2x multiplier? This is Japan were talking about.
This generation, for all 3 consoles (X360, PS3, Wii), the following games managed beyond a 2x multiplier:
Looking at this list, we note that all the PS3 RPG's were below Demon's Souls first day. The rest of the games above it were on other systems.
So it's a pretty safe bet to say that the game will sell between 50k on the low end, and 65k at the very high end.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

And the PS2... well, better not mention that. On top of that, the Wiimote just isn't designed for RPGs - at all. Maybe it could be - but not traditional RPGs, no way. Action games... Sports games... but not RPGs. Heck, it hasn't even got a SINGLE decent RPG from Nintendo: Golden Sun, Paper Mario (Super Paper does NOT count), Pokemon, Mario RPG, ... In fact - I have pretty good collections for both the Wii & DS. I don't have a SINGLE Wii RPG (no, Zelda doesn't count). On the DS, I have 8... Just about says it all. RPGs may *never* take off on the Wii, just like fighting games won't. |
Although over twice as many copies of fighting games have sold on Wii as PS3 and Xbox 360 combined. If fighting games don't sell on Wii, then they don't sell on any system.
Personally, I really enjoyed Super Paper Mario and the WW Final Fantasy game.

I agree but I believe that Motion Plus way make a big difference, in RPGs and in fighting games. Things like being able to just reach out and turn a door knob, pick up objects etc could be put to good use.

It seems the Japanese don't like Hack'n'Slash games as much as we would think.
It is expected, because a much more famous game from a more famous developer only sold 27k on it's first week in Japan. I'm of course talking about Ninja Gaiden II. Why should anybody expect higher FW sales for Ninja Blade ?
Eternal Sonata for the Xbox 360 almost doubled NGII's sales, so we come to a wide known conclusion:
RPGs are more famous in Japan than Hack'n'Slash games !!!!!
ZOMG who would have thought this ???? *rolleyes*

It actually is a point&click adventure and I really wonder why shams and others are discussing Wii RPG's in this thread.

demon's souls ?? never heard of it....what kind of game is it ???
