Regardless, I will here reiterate: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii will outsell any single SKU game on the HD consoles for the entire generation, excepting only Halo 3.

Yes, I know that there is a huge potential for this prediction to crash and burn, owing primarily to the Call of Duty franchise on the 360 and Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 (whenever that hits), but I'm going to make it here and now. I don't know where I expect M&S to finish out, but I expect it to be very, very high.

Anyone have any fancy number crunching they could do to make this either more plausible or less?

Yeah, about 6.8. Modern Warfare on the 360 is at 7.0, so it's not ahead of the pack yet, buuut...

I think it's legs will be chopped of at the end of the year when Winter Olympics arrives..

I don't think it will beat Gran Turismo 5, myself. Also, if GTAV is released near the end of this gen, it will outsell M&S considerably.

There is a couple of games starting whith "G" and then "T" than can make your prediction fail

Well, it already topped out every PS3 game, so no real competition there. GT5 will sell very well, but I'd be shocked if it does much more than 8m units. The best selling exclusive so far hasn't even broken 4m units. It would also make GT5 the best selling PS3 game ever by 2.5m units (looking at current software sales)

As for X360, I can see it getting ahead of Call of Duty, so it should be able to hold its own there too.

The one unknown, is if either Sony or Microsoft have a breakaway success with a title, like GTAs of the past, or a new Halo 3.

Mario & Sonic Wii + DS will also be the best selling 3rd party published game this generation (including multiplats of course).
