I agree with this but I'd say it's more like 500-1000 posts, or even 1,500.

The opinions of a lot of guys with less than 1,500 posts often tend to get ignored in threads and people choose to comment on the well-known member's posts instead.

Depends on what you mean by taken seriously.
Do you mean pay attention? I pay attention to everything The J Man says even though he has a low post count, cuz he's extremely cool.
Some people gain my atention for their sense of humor (Rubang and Lewis), and some because they're extremely insightful (Zen). Some gain my attention cuz they're insane (kirby, NFG) and some because they're such huge fanboys (I'm not going to name'em, are you nuts?!).
