Forums - Gaming - So who's checking out Bayonetta?

well let's put this debate to an end shall we.

1) zen has repeatedly ignored to reply to my question whether his statement towards pakidan101 was a racist remark since he singled him out saying "people like yourself". Not suprised if he is considering the level of arrogance and ego.

2) he finds it okay to be tasteless and aslong as it is a trend and he can justify it, he finds it reasonable to disrespect anyone in regards to it.

3) an excellent poster maybe, but he isn't the best of characters. Ego and arrogance have never been good qualities to have.

4) the discussion has nothing to do with the topic and therefore should be dropped or continued on a new thread in the other section, considering the topic is bayonetta.

5) sometimes sexy, raunchy characters are tasteless. It is wrong but we live in a society where ethics, morals and respect Is on a constant decline. Instead of arguing endlessly, we should consider a very important and famos quote from the bibel and the Quran- the blind, the deaf and the dumb, ghey will never understand. One shouldn't continue banging their head against a brickwall, nothing will come from it but a headache!

The fact that you use a clearly failed methodology to justify itself is kind of bizarre. Yes, one may make note of general trends and use them to predict other general trends, but using them to predict individuals is fallacious. That's not how statistics work.

Being "offensive" has nothing to do with it - assuming things about individuals based on groups is repugnant because of its inability to produce accurate results. Whether this is just morally wrong or fallacious from a utilitarian perspective is up to debate, but it is still obviously very wrong, and your assumption that KylieDog was a woman is the only example that's ever going to be needed to prove that point.

Your conjecture concerning my personal beliefs holds exactly as much water as it did when I answered your previous post, which you seem to have conveniently ignored.

Why aren't I discussing my "ideology"? because it's irrelevant. You are using fallacious methods, no matter how you look at it, and have failed to provide an explanation for why failed methods should continue to be used.

You're free to make as many demands as you want, but it will not distract from the point that you stuck your foot in your mouth and then, instead of removing it, simply proceeded to chew.

I'll go ahead and end this now.

@Fei-Hung

I wasn't being racist. I was simply referring to people like himself as "those without perception or insight." Obviously. I don't know one of you people from the other, how am I supposed to guess he is muslim.

BTW, who are you kidding. Act right. If I'm going to be racist, I'll be a lot more concise than that. This isn't a sitcom. Stop using my verbage to feign offense. Begone.

@Khuutra

You are attempting to guise the issue in a group of passionate, harsh, and moving words, yet you fail to address the core subject. I have told you time and time again, just because your opinion is that I have something to apologize for, doesn't mean it's true. I'm not the same as you. I don't live by societies rules of etiquett. When I offend you, I do it on purpose, and I don't apologize unless I'm wrong. Frankly, if I judge someone by the color of their skin, or what gender they are, it's none of your business, and you have no right to judge me, but that's what you do best, isn't it?

You adamantly refust to admit your progressive stance on the issues, which is at the root of this argument, instead attempting to keep the focus squarely on me. A great tactic, seeing as how your beliefs are probably a tad embrarassing when you say them out loud in a non-friendly room, but fine, lets drop you, and your beliefs. Let's pretend this isn't about politics and ideology. Let's pretend that you just commented because I made a sexist comment, and won't apologize about it, and you think I should. Simple. Here is my reply to that fake assertion:

Tough.

I can question who I want to, even if I'm implying generalization via steriotype. I enjoy it. It brings me pleasure in all sorts of glorious ways.

I'm not here to be popular, or to be your friend. I don't need your validation. I'm quite self sustaining. Your opinions about biggots, racist, and sexists will never be "right" nor will they have any effect whatsoever on the ideals of those people. FYI, they probably have a pretty slanted opinion of your side of the argument as well. Which one is right? The side with the most people on it?

What you view as common sense, and reality, is simply an opinion you've been fed since childhood, but we're getting back on the subject of you, aren't we. Let's disgress.

You say that I stuck my foot in my mouth because I flamed somebody at the expense of female pride?

I laugh at that assertion, and I walk all over female pride. If it serves my purpose, I shall use it, and I flame, and continue to do so, on purpose, for my pleasure, and you'll never see my shed a tear, or drop an apology, unless I have wronged someone in my own eyes. If you think you can bully me, you really don't read my posts often enough.

Sexist jokes can be funny, and true, as a generalization(which is how I presented my original post with the "let me guess" line). Just because you are the butt of the joke, doesn't mean you have to throw a hissy fit(just to clarify, my joke wasn't intentionally sexist). You are far too sensative for this world, and I'd request that we end this argument on that note of disagreement. I'm sure you believe that I'm far too harsh, but I guess that we both can agree, I'm far from ignorant...about most things. We are dangerously close to getting this thread locked, and I'd rather the great trailer be seen by as many people as possible.

Just to include a final note, on topic:

The trailer is a parody of Ninja Gaiden and DMCIII. It's purposefully over the top, in an attempt to hook the crowd attracted to those types of games, and to garner more attention for itself with a differentiated trailer. Saying you don't like the game because the girl in the trailer is ugly, is vastly more sexist than anything I would ever dare say on these forums, so yes, you're welcome. If you need anything else explained, you know where to find me.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I have never mentioned you personally, your "ideologies", your relationship to the feminine perspective, and whether or not you, yourself, are a bigot or racist. You are free to be dramatic about it and attempt to paint my viewpoints in any particular way you want, but your tastelessness lies primarily in the wrongness of your methodology. I've said it before.

Again, you are free to attempt to extrapolate my standpoint on this matter, but you are currently batting zero in terms of guessing at individuals based on trends. You will not get my viewpoint on racism and feminism, because they are not relevant to the conversation. Your reasoning is fallacious to the point of being self-defeating; that is all there is to say.

Insofar as that goes, though, my first post in this topic was about how the trailer seemed hilarious and appropriate. You are free to interpret that however you please, too.

Edit: Actually, I never even said you should apologize. What the Hell are you on about?

It seems.. way too lowest common denominator to me.

Talented developers so maybe i'll change my mind... but so far it seems like the whole marketing campaign is...

"Hey look guys she's hot.... and she makes suggestive comments... and she has gun shoes! Buy it!"

I mean... come on.

I think that may be intentional - it's so ridiculous it can't really be anything but. Kind of like God Hand, only with sex instead of cheese.

It could be... but until the full product is out i'm unwilling to give the benefit of the doubt considering the general state of the videogame industry.

I mean... is it really that ridiculious compared to games like Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball or Blood Rayne?

It's one of those cases where if it is infact a parody... what it's parodying is so extreme it's hard to tell it's a parody.

Like how Robert Swift's works were often seemed as serious during the times they were written.  Even a Modest Proposal.

I admit that my only reason for giving it the benefit of the doubt is that this is Platinum Games, the guys behind God Hand, Viewtiful Joe, Mad World, Okami... they have a track record for this kind of thing.

The whole trailer could be summed up as "A crazy flying librarian lady with a magical monster-eating skintight suit and hooker boots shoots angels in the face using guns on her feet". I don't think I would be able to accept that as serious no matter what.

I am not looking into it at all :P but from watching the trailer in this thread, I know they use English voices with japanese text.. What the hell?

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

Clover has a habit of doing that. I know at least God Hand and Viewtiful Joe were also originally voiced in English, even in the Japanese releases.

Why is the discussion about how "hot" the main character is? Her glasses are ugly. Oh well.

She kicks monster "tail", and does freakishly cool hair tricks while like... dual-wielding pistols and sawed-off shotguns, occasionally with her feet while her hair does its thing. Isn't that more to the point?

She could be more hot, but I'm not sure that she could be much more of a "tail"-kicker. Game on.
