I don't think that it would hurt Nintendo by much in the 360 dropped in price. The Wii appeals to the average American (Wii Fit) but the number of people who are just looking for the cheapest way to play games is nearing saturation. Over the next little while, no matter what the price the 360 sales will slide over to more quality systems.

If the Wii and 360 were seen as interchangeable then sure. But they're not. The Wii is simply regarded as far more desirable by general consumers and a cheaper 360 isn't going to change that.

The 360 would sell more, of course, as the lower price point would allow those who want a 360 but can't afford one to 'Jump In' but it wouldn't really touch Wii sales IMHO.

I'm still in awe that some people think Price is the only reason Wii sells. Being the cheapest console on the market didn't help the gamecube none. Sometimes the lower price can be seen as an undesirable product, that is why price cuts are strategic.

I doubt MS can cut production costs to such an extent to allow such a low price.
