Why? They can't keep the product in stock (except in Japan), why would they try and increase it?
And, demand is still so high that there wouldn't need a new game to release for months and it would still sell out.

a price cut in japan seems likely this year, if the economy stays bad when this years holiday season starts, i expect then to see the wii at $199.

FishyJoe said: Nintendo still has new colors and bundles before they'll even consider a price cut. Why on earth would they cut price when they are releasing Motion Plus? |
My guess last year was that they're going to release a $249.99 bundle with Wii Sports Resort/Motion Plus and a $199.99 with regular Wii Sports but your guess is as good as mine.
Pixel Art can be fun.
i actually think that the recession/depression/whatever-you-wanna-call-it is helping nintendo while it is hurting the hd consoles.
come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

Isn't the reason they reduced their profits because of a strong yen which is cutting into profits in europe and america? Not because shipments are under or selling under expectations...? Actually their sales expectations are pretty right one and it's still just about the fastest selling console of all time... why does it need a price drop? So it can sell for less profit?
I think they should do a pack-in or permanent bundle in Japan.
Wii Sports Resort is a prime candidate.
The lower than expected profit is because yen parity.
Lowering price would the dumbest move ever for Nintendo.
Didn't Nintendo say that they're not gonna cut the price until sales were almost dead because they didn't want to insult people who paid full price when it came out?
Wii Coal Black? and Marine Blue? on the way :)
I'm not buying another one however.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
