Killzone 2 is #1 right now, Halo Wars is #265. This will be no contest by any sales measure.

Wow, Halo 3 is still in the top 25.  That is interesting.

has the word halo on it, i expect it to sell decently in NA for a bit. but once they take it home and figure out its an RTS i expect alot of returns.

Not everyone. Most are excited for ODST, and a lot are skectical about the RTS genre. If it has good word of mouth, then I can it even surpassing 5 or 6 million.

I think Halo Wars will out sell Killzone 2 by a wide margin in its first week, then it will be harder to tell as they are both being bundled (360 sells more than ps3 at the moment = more halo wars sales)

We will see.....

I don't think you can predict if a game will be a hit or not based on a few local stores pre orders..


im probably the only person in my city that owns anything other than a ps2 or DS.. I never see anyone buy a wii 360 or ps3 game and I can always find a bunch in stock and they tell me they don't sell well..

it just depends on your location..

besides isn't this bundled?

RTS need u to think a bit too much for the average console player ...

They said the same thing about FPS until Halo came along.  Oh, you had Golden Eye, but FPS was a niche genre that didn't have a flood of games.  Halo changed that.  It got the controls to work right.  Now, if Halo Wars does the same for FPS, then expect Halo Wars to have great legs and help to transfer over another niche than Killzone 2.  It would be, just like Halo, the first to the fight in a major way, and help allow a new genre over.

Of course, all this is dependent upon Halo Wars being able to competently do an RTS on consoles.  It is also an RTS that is not on PCs, so that impacts things to, I believe.

 

ok, let's put it on another way :

hype and expectation : KZ2 (easy to say)
review score : KZ2 (I m guessing here)
accessibility : KZ2 (shooter)
popularity : Halo wars (it is Halo)
amazon.com top seller : KZ2

KZ2 win EASLY.

In regards to the question Halo Wars should sell well for an RTS game up to 2 million sales ltd. Kill Zone 2 will sell more up to 3 million sales ltd, maybe even  4 million ltd because it is a FPS game which casuals can play.
