VGChartz was probably at least 2M low on 2008 sales, and lifetime sales are just plain wrong. That's correct.

Worse still, is the Ps2. It is without a doubt undertracked by over 10M lifetime.

Hate to tell you this, but they haven't shipped 51 million psps. Unless they themselves released 7-9 million psps in the last quarter.

There are 49.58m PSPs shipped as of december 08.

Why would they need to have shipped 7-9M PsPs in Q3? That makes no sense... That would mean that had shipped only 6-8M in the 3 other quarters.

The 51M shipped seems accurate to me, you'll need some more proof than that Acevil.

I think Sony may include replacement units in their PS2 numbers. It was not long ago that they started considering shipments as warehouse to retailer as opposed to factory to warehouse.

Don't you remember when they did that? There was a lot of discussion about it, Sqrl even made an animated gif to explain it.
