I can think of numerous things I could do during an installation, that's not my point at all.

ps: i work more than you in a really stressful job and i dont have any problem wait this "one time 20min" for a new game

I actually did, contrary to RPG, there's an "I" in every sentence.

 

And again: I never said it was a big problem or that it's bad or that the PS3 sucks or that installs or stupid, none of that all. Stop being so damn sensitive! I only said it's ridiculous to excuse it with "best thing that ever happened to console gaming" and "Every gamer has loads of time to burn". Just read.

like when full install was announced for 360 some 360 fans were celebrating casue they thought the game would run better?(you can even look up the thread on this very site )

 

You are missing the point. Both 360 and PS3 are increasing made of fail as gaming consoles. You shouldn't have to patch games out of the box to play them. You shouldn't have to install games to play them. That was part of the reasons consoles gained popularity over PC gaming in the first place. Ease of use. As time goes on consoles are taking on more and more of the negative aspects of PC gaming. Installs should not be mandatory. Optional installs at least give gamers a choice. As a console owner you are supposed to be able to go to store, buy your game, come home, pop in and play. Not wait couple minutes for patch, or 5 to 20 minutes for an install etc. The fact that people can't take off their fanboy goggles long enough to see the slippery slope console gaming is on is disturbing. Gamers are getting kicked in the nuts and instead getting upset about it, they are saying "thank you may I have another."

I never said I agreed with the OP. I definitely don't think it's the worst thing ever happened to console gaming, but it's far away from being the best thing as well.

sorry to derail thread..............but yakuza 3 looks very promising indeed i hope for a western release. no one seems to point to the quality of the game. imo it looks amazing. install or no install game looks incredible



...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

But the 360 version of installing is completely different because it is optional.

The PS3 versions of games with installs aren't really that big of a deal unless you have a 20 gb hard drive, which you can buy a laptop hard drive easily and install it instead.
