If my Japanese stereotypes are correct (and stereotypes USUALLY are), one third of every person in Japan is a ninja. The rest are either Jakie Chan, Hiro from "Heroes", or the one girl in Japan who you see everywhere. With that in mind, I'm going to say....... 40,000.
