Forums - Nintendo - Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

Continually swinging the Wii Remote is tiring at best and dangerous at worst.

I can tell you that Soul Calibur Legends and Samaura Warriors are not fun because of their control approach. (I returned Dragon Blade before playing it -- even though I got it for only $10 -- because of the same fear). These games tend to be one-trick ponies. It is just Nintendo appears to have realized this before the competition.

Meanwhile, NMH limits the movement to special moves. That makes more sense.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Well, I would still be interested in these kind of games. But weapon upgrading, changing weapons and secondary weapons not controlled with swings would be a must.

Wii Motion Plus should take away unnecessary swings one does when Wii Remote responds bad to movements.

Or something.

If it wasn't cancelled, then what has Nintendo Software Technology been doing with themselves since Metroid Prime Hunters came out in February 2006?

I say it still exists, mostly off of the fact that the game's director said that it wasn't completely dead during a lecture at DigiPen

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

because it's a bad idea, that's why it was canceled. No More Heroes did it right and thankfully the controls to Mad World have been changed from waggle fest to No More Heroes style button presses with waggle as punctuation or special moves. Hitting somebody twenty times in a few seconds by mashing A and then finishing them with a suplex that requires you to do movements with your hands is very very satisfying. Waggling fiercely for half an hour is annoying as hell.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

I'd like to see MadWorld 'allow' you to physically punch with the Wiimote or press the A button. Just because I don't always want to wear myself out like this doesn't mean I never want to.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Was it ever officialy cancelled?

That games is dead It amy have sucked but it would have been a new IP for Nintendo which they are lacking right now.

Could someone explain to me exactly what Project H.A.M.M.E.R. is? I've never really been clear on that. I know it's a Wii game that got canceled, but what did we know about the game?

It was a beat'em up staring a guy who swung a big hammer at Robots. The name and videos we saw suggested that you'd only ever be swinging a big hammer at robots. It looked mildly entertaining for a few minutes, but an entire game based on it would be dreadful.

I kind of disagree. It can't be much worse than moving from point A to point B shooting. In the right creative hands(Nintendo) it could work and be a great game. Wii motion plus could make this game possible. Plus I seriously doubt that the only thing to do would be to swing at robots. That's just one video clip. You can't judge any game on one 2 minute clip.

This game kind of reminds me of a too human for wii. They could make it like a futuristic beat em up zelda game.
