im going to call you an idiot if you are considering selling something you enjoy because of sales. Whats worse is that the PS3 isnt even selling poorly and your considering this. No publisher will dump the PS3. There are hundreds of games tat will be released between retail and the PSN. 

Quit being paranoid and buy some blu-ray movies if there is a drought on titles your interested in.

You should sell your PS3 (not at GameStop!) because there will really be no more huge third-party PS3 exclusives.. Anything you want would likely also be on the XBox 360.

Lets see... Uncharted 2? God Of war 3? Gran Turismo 5? Heavy Rain? Killzone 2? MAG?

But games like Demon's Souls, Quantum Theory and Yakuza 3 are coming out, so it is hardly dead by those means.

^ there's nothing wrong with consulting your better half when spending money. there might be something wrong if she doesn't let you do anything you want to do (within reason... such as her stopping you from buying a ferrari when you can't afford one). i somehow convinced my wife to buy me all three systems!

anyway, i think it's wise you're keeping the ps3.
