No it wont. The Wii fanbase is not interested in games of this sort. They will all be on the Wii Resort craze.

I think the point is that it could be a huge hit BECAUSE of Wii Sport Resort. After everyone has gotten Motion Plus, it is only natural that they will then be looking for other programs to use it on and The Conduit is likely to be the best candidate.

Very true, but when does Wii Sports Resort release? If they are too close together and The Conduit is rated M (which it looks like it may) I'm not sure if it'll reach that audience.

My understanding that it will launch almost immediately after or at the same time. It will be the more serious gamers that will be first in line for Motion Plus and the most likely to buy The Conduit. I think Motion Plus will be huge. It's the first thing ever that I would stand in line in the rain for. If The Conduit is available, I'll buy both the same day.

Smart release dates will be key I think. I think some will hold on buying The Conduit if it's released too close to Wii Sports Resort because I know I don't have the cash to just buy two games in the span of two weeks. (I wish I did though)

I wouldn't be surprised to see some moms in line for the new Wii Sports as it will become the must buy for the Wii and set the sales charts ablaze.

hypothetically no

realistically

about as much chance of PS3 outselling the wii

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

KZ2 sales will be about twice the sales of The Conduit.

I don’t think so at first, but like all ps3 games it will be a flash in the pan and then dry up to dribble sales as people get hyped for the next installment

Where as the cond will hit off slow then if it is a s good as it seems build up and maint nice sales to eventually out sell its kz2 comp

Not to mention that if only 5 % of the wii install base buys the game you are already at 2 million and I know that more then 5% of the wii install base is looking o get their hands on so more true FPS action—I see it going to at least 15% which puts us at 6 million mark

Hold on. Didn't Killzone only get a 70 on metacritic, and sell ~750k according to vgchartz? To me, it doesn't sound like Killzone being an established franchise will be a massive advantage.

Now, I apologize if I'm simply out of the loop, but how do we know that there's massive hype for Killzone II outside of the gamers that lurk in message boards? I mean, it's not like it's an uncommon phenomenon, a game being massively hyped on the internet, only to fall flat among the wider gaming populace(sometimes even when the game is really good).

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Killzone did get an mixed average (although I will not say that 70 is terrible), but the game was much more popular in Europe and the developers have said that it sold over 2 million a while ago. So, it's popular in Europe which is good for the PS3.

I didn't think they ever actually said that Killzone sold 2 million ... I thought they said something along the lines of "We celebrated Killzone passing 1 Million a couple of times" ... Which could imply anything from Killzone sold 2 Million, Killzone passed 1 million worldwide and in one region, or they like to party a lot.

it won't happen... ps3 demographic its more target of FPS.
or any "hardcore" gender.
