Now, I apologize if I'm simply out of the loop, but how do we know that there's massive hype for Killzone II outside of the gamers that lurk in message boards? I mean, it's not like it's an uncommon phenomenon, a game being massively hyped on the internet, only to fall flat among the wider gaming populace(sometimes even when the game is really good).

Killzone did get an mixed average (although I will not say that 70 is terrible), but the game was much more popular in Europe and the developers have said that it sold over 2 million a while ago. So, it's popular in Europe which is good for the PS3.

 

I didn't think they ever actually said that Killzone sold 2 million ... I thought they said something along the lines of "We celebrated Killzone passing 1 Million a couple of times" ... Which could imply anything from Killzone sold 2 Million, Killzone passed 1 million worldwide and in one region, or they like to party a lot.
