So that's why.. they felt it was slow. It's typical people who aren't expecting realistic movements that when they get them they complain.

These games never reached amazing sales, you cant create a groundbreaking sales selling monster with hype. These monster sellers just appear, they happen. Same with films. Look at The Matrix, they released that 4 months apart from Episode 1 Phantom Menace. The Producers didnt epect alot in sales at all.

 

I'm pretty sure too human was not hyped. In fact, it was the butt of many jokes.

Hell, before the launch of it, there was only one hype thread about it on vgchartz.

 

Yeah, many took a "wait and see" approach to the game.  Gears of War, however, was extremely hyped.  I'm not sure why he's saying it wasn't.

 

I didn't know SHIT about Gears of War. I just knew it wass a shooter by Epic. I was surprised to even learn it was TPS.

Where the hell were you after the E3 2006 presentation and when Emergence Day commercials started blowing up my TV set? Gears had monster advertising from Microsoft. Second only to Halo 3. The advertising was so good for the first it basically propelled the second to monster sales with nothing more than a good ad campaign.

 

 

I don't watch TV.... I mean I knew you were fighting the whitish enemis and that you were the dude with the du-rag. Though at first I remember thinking that dude was the bad guy.... I was also a lot less of an intellectual whore back then.

It wasn't really hyped until after it released and everyone knew it was awesome.

Or atleast that's the way i rememered it.  Maybe not though.

I will repost this yet again, since everyone seemed to have missed it due to fanboy yelling.

Anyways, here we go again, hopefully people actually see my post this time.  Since this will cure all these fanboy tears, rants, raves, and everything else that has been going on in this thread.

When it comes to hype, Halo had mass hype in PC magazines before MS brought it and used it as the sales vehicle for the original xbox. The reason i never owned on xbox, seeing as i was a big PC gamer at the time and brought into the hype only to be told relatively close to the release date that it would never be coming to PC and would be an xbox exclusive. If you wanted to play it you would have to get an xbox. I dutifully said sod you and played it on PC 4 years later. Believe me when i say Halo on the PC had as much if not more hype.
