Not only is Britain's population similar to Italy's (61m to 58m) Stickball, but expendable income in the UK isn't that much higher than in Italy. The base income is essentially the same (32k vs 30k) but of course taxes and forex variations could make the difference greater but I can't imagine it would do so in a significant way. My guess would be other reasons such as fewer kids in Italy, lack of games in Italian, shorter history of gaming, major difference between north and south, etc. are having a bigger impact than the small differences in population and income.
Italy and Britain population is about the same and there isnt a great difference in income ,but the italian market is somewhat underdeveloped in videogames and the british one is overdedeveloped .Italy ,because population and income ,could be one of the biggest markets in Europe ....maybe not of the same level of the British one that has behind a long tradition and industry but for sure as big as the French or German market .But not only it is smaller than those two but also smaller than the Spanish one even if Spain has only a 42 million population (2/3 of Italy ) and even lower income .Even counting in Portugal in the spanish numbers the Italian market could and should be bigger .But it isnt ,and that can only be attributed to a underdevelopment of the italian market under its true potential .
