1.6 million, on the conservative side, but GT games tend to have tremendous legs (someone will probably argue about that, but that's pointless).

NA:290k

Indeed people are putting first week numbers lower than MGS4, WTF is going on there?

I think i will go for something along the lines of:

Others - 1,000,000
NA - 700,000
Japan - 350,000

Total - 2,050,000 or there abouts!

It really depends on the release date and if Sony has a price cut. The sales would definitely have a huge effect on the ps3 if they bundle the game. here are my predictions:

US: 1.5 million

Japan: 700k

Others: 650k

So it will probably sell around 2.8 million first week worldwide. However, it could sell more if it gets a worldwide release date.
