I think everyone is either an Alt 2 or Standard 1 person.  I used Alt 2 in the beta but there was no lean or cover in the multiplayer.  I realized towards the end I'd rather have melee at L1 so that I could still move normally when I'm trying to melee someone and that zoom at R3 won't really change my aim since the only time I'll be doing that the enemy is far away (even with sniper rifle you can no-scope guys if you aim at the center of the screen).  Meleeing someone often requires a quick change of direction and that's not possible if you are also trying to press R3.  I waited too long to switch, though, so I stuck with Alt 2...

I've now switched back to standard 1 for the demo and I'm sticking with that.

After COD4 and all the games mimicking the control scheme I think everyone had the impression that the ALT 2 controls would automatically be superior. I think with some time playing default though (exspecially on a harder difficulty when i'm sure cover is really needed) most of those people would find the default the strongest control setting.

I use Alternate 2 because I don't like using clicking the analog sticks (it feels awkward and I don't want to break the stick). Also, I do use ironsights quite a bit and I'd be zooming A LOT if I was using a sniper. I'm also a weird case because I do like the zoom toggle as well, perhaps it's from my PC gaming :P

Though I am grateful that you don't have to hold L3 to sprint and all you have to do is click it because that broke the left stick on my sixaxis. It's always tilted slightly forward now.

I think I'll keep my demo observations here, it's stickied.

Anyway, did you notice Garza, when you pull him up? The first time, he said "Ladies first", the second time, he said "We can reach the elevator from here".

Remember what I said about dismissing PS3 exclusives?

MGS4 was a movie.
LBP was kiddy, casual, 2D, not even a game just a level toolset, etc.

Now, we have Killzone 2. It appears they have some ammo.

The "control issues" (otherwise known as no hand-holding while you aim). But it's still a game, right, and Metacritic says it's 90+, therefore it's a AAA game, and that can't happen.

I replied saying "You can't use that one twice!"

If you are finding the demo get a bit stale, play through with no HUD. It's amazing, it really is. In the display options.

Also in the display options, if you want a challenge, you can turn off the crosshair. This really tests your skill, and it's a blast. For full immersion, turn off subtitles, HUD and crosshair. Just you, your gun, and the world around you. Brilliant.

whats also fun is to change the game language... like... having the helghast speak in the fathertongue ..since they look blatantly obvious like nazis in space in part 2 its kinda fitting... or try russian or spanish

I'm really wondering how strong it will boost PS3 hardware sales :)

I am sure I am won't be the only one to buy a PS3 because of this game. How much of a boost it will have on hardware sales is anyone's guess.

Collected my PS3 this morning. Currently updating the system to 2.6* (or something). Then PSN account and then K2 demo.

Also got R2 thrown in the deal so that should keep me going until release of K2. Also it will help me get use (again) to the PS controller.
