It's already confirmed that the Conduit makes use (optional, of course) of the new Wii Motion Plus.

Now see, this must be where there is some faction between gamers.... because I couldn't care less about which features have been done before in which game.

To me, an FPS is good if it has good controls and good level design... with The Conduit we can't tell much about the level design yet, while the controls are pretty obviously brilliant given that you can put whichever feature you want almost anywhere on the Wiimote/nunchuck combo. That is why I liked TimeSplitters 2, customisation.... except The Conduit seems to be taking that to another level, in fact it's customising more than any console game I can think of. (PC games obviously having massive customisation in most games)

No faction... I just don't understand the hype this game has recieved so far. It looks in most respects to hold its own as a first person shooter. It appears to do everything well enough, while still being unremarkable in almost every regard. On any other console, many Wii owners would call The Conduit a generic FPS, disregarding it as another brown/grey shooter. When High Voltage makes the same sort of FPS thats been appearing on the x360/ps3/pc for years but on the Wii it recieves ungodly amounts of praise. If controls and customization are the pivotal difference between this and the ocean of other FPS games, does that really bode well for the game itself?

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

Well I am excited again for this game. Looks fun.

Everyone is saying Conduit will use Motion Plus but how? It wont help out the IR pointer. Or will it? Not sure what gameplay element would use Motion+ in Conduit. Its not a sword game.

Wish they would show some damn Multiplayer vids!!! What the F! That is what we are all dying for.

By the way Conduit isnt an FPS according to High Voltage. They have named it a First Person Action/Adventure.

Still not crazy about the flat level design. And the engine looks technically great but the art could be SOOOOO much better! Look at RE4 compared to this. Even COD:WAW Wii has better Art Direction.

DOnt attack me Conduit Fanatics. I am really excited and buying this game day one. Remember....the Conduit isnt perfect. High Voltage does deserve praise for all they have done. I will vote with my dollars to support them.

thats what i was missing too everything looks good on a technical view but the rest i find it ugly

I highly prefer good artwork

Well, in Red Steel for instance, sometimes when I turn left with the Wii Remote it jumps right and it ain't always that smooth. Most time it works, but it could get better. Maybe Motion Plus could make the IR turning more right and smooth as it will sense the positions of the Wii Remote better. And some of the weapons are to a degree motion controlled.

Well, they are holding back parts of the game overall, maybe some good parts.

Well, I like some of the level deigns. But it ain't much to be crazy about as they haven't shown that much yet. And take it easy before you compare games that is out with a game that ain't. Both the art design and graphics have improved recently and maybe, maybe it will be more improved in the final build.

Well, yeah, The Conduit ain't perfect but it might be the best or one of the best FPS games for Wii when it comes out with maybe the best graphics for a FPS game on Wii. Then we have the controls. Except that, well, something is making us interested. I think Red Steel 2 might be better as a second game in a series and about 2 years (?) developing time might give it an edge.

In terms of features (apart from graphics) it seems about on par with the high tier of the rest of the generic shooters on the PS360 yes.... but haven't you noticed the shooters on those consoles also recieving hype?

Without going into important things like level design, there are really just two differences between your moderately high quality FPS on the other systems.... one being the graphics and the other being controls. So why should The Conduit recieve any less hype than Resistance 2 or CoD:WaW.

Given that the PS3 and 360 get more than their fair share of very similar games, surely The Conduit shoud be recieving more hype.... In fact if 50% of reviewers didn't view the Wii as dirt just 'because' it probably would be recieving more hype. but as it is it's just a select few.

Personally I don't care for my FPS games to be so serious, I like big-head modes and paintball and monkeys shooting robot fish.... but given that TimeSplitters is one of very few to have not gone in the Halo/Killzone direction I am a bit out of options... especially if Free-Radical dissapear.
And as such, I don't buy many FPS.

So yes, the major difference between this and the ocean of other FPS is indeed the controls and customisation.... and yes it is important. AFter all what do other shooters have that make them stand out?

See, thats the thing, it's not on any other console, it is on Wii and there have been hardly any decent shooters in more than two years of Wii's lifespan. So anyone itching to play a modern shooter with fast style of run and gun with wii controls is looking forwards to it. Actually come to think of it there's not a single good game which fits into that category.

Think of it this way, a console with a control scheme best suited for a genre is getting a first decent game after two bloody years!! NO wonder people are hyping it up and rightly so.

^^ Is anyone else reminded of GoldenEye in the early develpoment build or is it just me?

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.
