I wouldn't be surprised, the legs of GTA IV are pretty bad but the overall sales are still pretty good. They might want to milk it as much as possible, quickly.

 

We ain't seeing a GTA5, we would see some other GTA4 games.  

 

which is gonna be those downloadable content.    I'm sure they are working on something new too, but still how many delays did 4 see, and also we will jus thave other 4's this gen and a GTA5 next gen

PS3 Exclusive?

Could it be that this is the exclusive Rockstar game that booth companies were touting at E307?

Not getting my hopes up, but I do expect to here more on that exclusive this year.

I don't think they can. I'm sure they want to make it bigger and better in every way than IV. They would need more than 18 months to do that. Plus they're busy with the DLC creating.

I wouldn't be surprised with an april 2010, 2 years after IV.

Are there any good reasons why this couldn't happen?

They've made GTA games in shorter amounts of time before. Besides, it's not like they couldn't have started development on the next GTA game even before being finished with GTA4. They have a much larger grasp of GTA4's engine, which they can use for the next game (hopefully with some changes though). Considering that the Grand Theft Auto series is one of Take Two's main cash cows, it doesn't seem that unreasonable to me.

it's possible, especially since Vice City came out a year after GTA3. If it's true, I'll hope it'll be set in the 80s again.

In a similar vein to the 'Vice City' spin-off it could very much be achieved. So much of the game is recycable to a new 'edition'. From art assets to animation cycles to NPC AI - the ground work has been done essentially. This game would probably cost 10 million to make instead of GTAIV's 100million.
