Forums - Website Topics - VGChartz is Recruiting Reviewers!

One thing that popped into my mind in the OP, how does the score matter in how the review should be written? Shouldn't the review be written the same way, whether the score is 5, 7 or 9?

All reviews should be detailed, all scores should be justified, my point with the 9 is that it's harder to justify a 9 than people think it is.  Just emphasizing caution on that.

I would love to do some reviews, although the only current consoles I own are Wii and DS. Still, I have some ideas cooking up in the ol' noggin, especially with Retro games. If I do happen to be selected, prepare to see a lot of Retro Sonic reviews (I'll be fair, I promise).

I'll definitely send you guys in some examples and I hope to help VGC grow as a site, even if that means just commenting on the reviews of others.

well... i'll try again!

Uhh, is there, like, any deadline for when it should be in? I'm seriously considering sending one in, but not sure exactly when I can.

Word count?
300 - 500?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

@Naz: That's true, but i think the same should apply to all scores.

Btw. I'm not really interested in being a reviewer (takes much too long for me to beat a game due to time constraints), but if nobody is doing review for Disaster: Day of Crisis, i could write a review once i beat the game after a couple of days (could take longer, hard to tell how long the game is) and email it to you?

I could be able to work on the back-catalog for the Gamecube. Since it's my hobby to collect (and play through) a lot of appreciated Gamecube games. Think in the order like what VGChartz did to Shadow of the Colossus. But then maybe for a bunch of Nintendo published games for the Gamecube. Viewtiful Joe, Beyond Good and Evil, Eternal Darkness, MGS: The Twin Snakes, and a bunch of PS3 games. Because I got a lot of that too!

I'll write something tomorrow, now I don't have time!

No word count. Write what you have to to cover all the content fully.

@ bdbdbd, you can, but we wouldn't just post it up.  Only staff reviewers will get their reviews posted on the site.

By the way don't be afraid to review a bad game.  Sometimes it's easier to get content for bad games than good games.
