Hmm, I would try it but i don't want to back everything up..
What are the chances of me losing everything?

I was thinking about this too. I don't want to lose my stuff. I think that u can install it so u have two OS running and u choose which u want to start everytime u turn on ur pc but don't quote me on that.

If you have a seperate partition or hard drive, you ought to be okay as long as you don't select the option to 'upgrade your current Windows' and instead do a fresh install.

I believe it'll also ask you which version of windows you want to boot when you start your computer after you install it. One being Windows 7 and the other being "Previous version of Windows". Just make sure to have the install disk for your current version of windows so you can get rid of the booting menu after you get rid of the Windows 7 beta.

I just tried it, only to find out my WLAN adapter doesn't even have 64-bit drivers for Vista, not to mention 7. It's kinda hard to say very much at this point then, but at least it installed very fast (a lot faster than XP and if my memory serves me right, faster that Vista, too) and it seems to boot up pretty fast as well.

I just finished burning to a disc, now I need to find a spare hard drive to put it in, Also to everyone when they same back up data there was a problem with windows 7 which made it delete mp3s. Also in order for users to upgrade they need to have vista sp1. If you have xp you have to do a clean install. For driver issues download the vista drivers and run them in compatibility mode.

damn I ran out of DVDs... Would it be possible to do it thru alcohol?

you cant, it will install to 20 percent then it will restart the comp and boot from the disc.

I got in the Vista beta, and I couldn't really stop using it, so my main concern is what happens when it runs out? I am obliged to buy 7 if I want to continue using my computer?

they said if you were in the beta testing the beat ends in August, after that you have to reinstall your previous operating system. They said that you could NOT upgrade the beat to the full version

Probably, upon downloading it, Microsoft said to have your previous operating system handy for when the beta is done.

Not really worth it then.... I seem to be the only person in the world who thinks that Vista is actually a decent OS
