Good bet, but I would say sales have a chance too if you combine PC and 360. Then again, with Nintendo's aggressive advertising of Prime (downloadable trailers for the first time) I think it could probably take it in sales cross platform as well. Either way, the review war between them is very interesting. Bets like this, when there is actually a valid (non-fanboy) argument for each side, are much more fun.

Heh, well I've got both games reserved right now, so I won't sway those numbers one way or the other. I want to see both games do well, but if I had to make a prediction... I'd say Bioshock. It's a hard call for me to make, though.

It sounds awesome. If I manage to get my hands on hardware that can actually play it - I'll most certainly do so.

Right, that's what makes it interesting.  There is no overwhelming argument for one side.  It's not like those best of "The Wii will sell 200 million consoles by 2008!" (exaggerated, but there are some equally ridiculous), or Heavenly Sword will outsell Mario Galaxy!  It actually looks like a very interesting question.

Yeah I think it will be interesting, my guess would be that Bioshock will win the review battle, but MP3 will win the sales battle. Although combined sales I think would be much closer I would still give the edge to MP3.

Both are interesting honestly.

Gears of War never really had any competition when it first came out (at least nowhere near what Bioshock is going to have with Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and all the other big games coming out this year).  I think it's a given that Halo 3 will outsell Gears of War soundly (they're expecting sales of over 2 million in the first day (or two) of it's release , that has to hurt games like Bioshock).

 However... killzone1 was not a very good game? So before playing it why does everyone think its going to be amazing?

It may be a good game...It may be a great game... but I don't think we need to flip out over a game(and especially troll every thread possible) until we know very more about that game than basically looks.  At least reviewers have had hands on with Bioshock for some time and have confirmed its a good egg.  I felt the same way about Crysis for a long time, but a few reviewers got to play it at e3 and said it was better than farcry which is impressive.... but we shall see on that one as well

Agreed... really could go either way. I'm banking on the massive hype Bioshock's been getting for some time, as well as knowing (oh yes, I know it) that the game is going to meet/pass most expectations and get good word-of-mouth, and the fact that it's available on 2 platforms as you mentioned.

Of course Prime 3 is out on the least expensive system, and is the type of title that will sell Wii's and expand the already substantial (and growing) install base. And the Metroid series is longer-lived and very quality-reliable across each title... gonna be close. But chalk me up for Bioshock, and I'll bite the bullet if I get shot.
