hmm, i am going to guess around 45-50 million for ps3, 55-65 million for x360. And if you add those both up, and you get the wii's numbers

You're right.
But since I hate admitting that, let me defend myself just a bit.
The Playstation was released december 94 in japan, and september 95 in the rest of the world. That coupled with the april/march thingy really screws with my head. I was going to do a chart of my own, but VGChartz lacks data for the PlayStation, so I cannot do that.
It does appear to be that the Playstation peaked in it's third full year in Japan, from what I can tell from the data (5 million). That would mean that the real peak for it in the other terretories also came in it's third full year, but I cannot check on that, unfortunatly.
Still, you're right. I just hate admitting to it.

The PS2 reached its peak in 2002 .... its (3rd) year on the market, the 360 is entering its 5th (so to speak) and this year it has to be said its looking more likely the 360 will top this years sales over last years. ...

Ok, I know you weren't slamming the 360, but these kinds of things crack me up. 360 celebrated the end of its 3rd year on the market on November 21st, 2008. We are now less than 2 months into the 4th year of its release. The console is really NOT that old. Its like calling Hayden Panettiere old because she's not 18 anymore ...

lol I know its not 5 years old what I meant was 2005/06/07/08/09
It wil be celebrating its 5th christmas this year if that means anything! Anyway you get the point I'm making? the 360 will peak 2 years later than the PS2.
