I would guess it has something to do with PS3 and 60GB clearance sale, along with 80GB model unequal supply in diffent parts of US, and they are gathering more info to be sure?

So you all forget the times vg numbers were adjusted when ndp came out with theirs ?

Why the hell does ndp even release them if others have to pay for them ?

seriously... you've been here for a long time now, you should know how this works.

NPD delivers the numbers to it's clients (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and probably big companies like EA who need to know the state of the gaming industry) and then it's those clients that release the numbers through press releases that inform the mass public.

NPD sucks. They delay every freaking month. Just when I am looking forward to the numbers in a couple days, they delay yet again. Ugh! What a shoddy corporation.

It's like they said on GAF, Media Create gets numbers out on time every WEEK and NPD cant do it once a month..

And the guy above me, NPD themselves release the numbers as well. But only a few simple things like top ten hardware and software data. The detailed data they want their subscribers paying tens of thousands of dollars for so they keep it top secret.

This sites numbers are accurate enough for me. NPD isn't showing me anything that VGcharts isn't. As long as ioi doesn't start delaying stuff, I will be just fine.

Maybe it has something to do with the Wal-Mart/NPD deal? I know NPD will be providing Wal-Mart with market analysis, but maybe Wal-Mart is allowing NPD access to it's sales database.
