Exceptions:

The two exceptional exclusives will most likely be Starcraft and Diablo III. I am very excited about Diablo III.


That said, I still dislike your need to compare and deflate console gamers in an attempt to canvas your agenda of perceived PC superiority. No one should be a PC gamer in the HD era, unless they have at least 2 years experience in building and maintaining PCs. The barrier to entry to play games like, Mirror's Edge, is very high for the average consumer, and PC gaming just isn't the best choice for the less technically inclined, and it isn't necessarily the best choice for the most technically inclined either.

I'm not saying that you should sacrifice your aggressive posting style, but if you really want to compete at the top levels of the "owning" pyramid, you have to be taken seriously first, and you sir, are becoming cliche.

Don Shiotte, you are extremely biased and (seem to) have a very simplified view but nevertheless I have to thank you for another hilarious “PC is best” thread.

You are the only member who attracts more than 5-10 people to the PC forum and you are the only one who manages to unite console-only gamers of all 3 fractions (“fun console” & “HC-HD consoleA” & “HC-HD consoleB”) in sheer childish PC gaming hate.

Anyway: Good list. Starcraft 2 and The Sims 3 will be megahits in the 5-10(+) mill. range, no doubt. Empire: Total War will be another hit. Diablo 3 won´t come out in ´09. And Gobliiins 4? Big surprise. But why didn´t they name it Gobliiiins?

By the way: Some of the adventures are already out in continental Europe (Mata Hari for example is a disappointment in reviews and I assume in sales as well) and you forgot games like Runaway 3, A New Beginning and Edna & Harvey.

Some of the 2D games look extremely interesting, especially Winterbottom, Machinarium (I loved the developer´s browser adventures) and Fool & his Money (never heard of the latter one before; a fairytale setting?).

And just for the record, shio: You certainly know that you provoked some of these anti-PC comments with your thread title and some of your own comments. The thread is a great effort and would have deserved a sticky in my opinion, but the title...oh well.

I would get Starcraft and Diablo but having never played a Blizzard game (and fine with that fact) I think i'm good.

This year's purchases will be painful indeed... I will probably get FEAR 2, and then maybe a few more. Hopefully SC2 comes out sooner because I know I won't be buying anything else for a long long LONG time when that hits.

I just added Spore: Galactic Adventures, which is an expansion for the game. I'm highly anticipating it too, since you'll be able to create your own missions and share with everybody.
