because I got a PS3 in March 2007 (for $700) and never planned on getting a 360. After 10 months of happy PS3 gaming I decided to get a 360 because thats what all my friends have (they're too cheap to buy the better console).

Because I can afford it so why not? It got good exclusive games and not to mention it double as PS2 since our PS2 died not to mention it was (still is to manhy) the best blu-ray player.

Or may be your friends doesn't want to spend more to play the same games.  : P

I always buy all the consoles bcuz I hate missing exclusives. The ps2 was my most favorite console of all time but now I'm pretty much even between all current gen consoles. Plus they are both great in there own way so y not get both if I can.

Most important: The games.

First bought a 360 back in 2007 and finally left PC gaming (my PC has still AGP and it would be too expensive to upgrade)
Many AAA third party games I can only get on PS360 + PC but not on the Wii: Orange Box, GTA IV, CoD4, Fallout 3 to name a few.
360 exclusives like Gears of War, Bioshock, Crackdown, Halo 3, Forza 2 at this time.

PS3 bought about 2 weeks ago. Weak £, so it was almost a steal. Blu-Ray, good exclusives released: LBP, MGS4, Uncharted, RFOM, Resistance 2 and even better exclusive games coming this year: Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, inFamous, Uncharted 2 (maybe God of War 3)

Motion controls doesn't interest me at all and from the must have games on the Wii I would only buy: SMG & SMBB
(I don't like Zelda)

Oh almost forgot: I'm coming straight from PC gaming, so SD is nothing for me.

I own all 3. Just got the 360. I buy a lot of games for the PS3 and my friend buys a lot for the 360. We just trade the games. Doubled my games library for $300.

Well, I have Wii60, but I want a PS3 for

Blu Ray

and excusives like LBP, Valkeryia, Disgaea, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, White Knight Chronicles ect.

The systems are not Twins, they offer very unique things. The biggest difference in games is online, Xbox has alot of old games from yesteryears while Ps3 has nice cell shaded grapical new games. They have their own exclusives and ONLINE exclusives that make each console pretty desirable.
But also liek someone mentioned, Ur friends probably have one or the other system so u could borrow games regardless of system.
And Metal Gear is worth the system, also Halo is worth the system to many.

I bought the PS3 as my general gaming console and for my movie/Blu-ray addiction. I got the Xbox 360 for the few good exclusive titles it has and titles that were released early on in its life when I was still playing PS2 and Gamecube. Never got a Wii cause the only game that interests me is SMG, and I cant justify spending $300 for 1 game.
