Forums - Gaming - To all who apply: Why do you own both PS3/360?

yeah only console that a real must have for me would be actually would be the wii since it really does have more exclusive to me. The ps3 and 360 share a lotta of the games i like but i tend to get the 360 ones hence why i only got 2 ps3 games i like, but if there was a pc version or the likely hood of a pc version i wouldnt think twice and not get the console version instead i would get the pc version.

I TAKE NO SIDES

Around the Network

I picked up the PS3 for Heavenly Sword, and the 360 for Gears of War. Since PSN is free and the PS3 plays BluRay and DivX, I leave the PS3 hooked up to the HD projector and get as many of the games I buy for it. The 360 (recently refurbished) sits waiting for me to rent a game or for the next Killer App must have title. Wii on the other hand just doesn't appeal to me because i think it is a little silly. I stuck with Nintendo from the beginning (Nintendo,SNES,64) but like heavy metal music I just moved on after the 64 ;)

Xbox360 because it has games I wanted.
PS3 because I thought it would have the games I wanted. Errare humanum est.

Tempus fugit Nintendo manet.

exclusives

When I received my PS3, it had superior exclusives (IMO) - FFXIII, FFXIIIv, MGS4, other "promised" Japanese games (or I assumed), as well as all the great multiplat HD games. It plays Blu-ray in case I ever have use for it, and it was the only reliable HD system until... well, whenever 360 got its shit fixed.

Nowadays, the 360 is a no-brainer. I just picked up an arcade for $145... at its current price, I find it hard to believe any gamer could miss out, or purchase a PS3 in favor of it (unless they really only care for those Sony exclusives). The fact that it dominates America (meaning current or future friends/family here will likely have one) helps, a lot.

I regret buying PS3, it sucks!

... Yeah, I'm kidding of course! Still, I can probably manage without it now that I've played most of the games that have interested me. Since I'm not about to sell it though, I'll be using it to try some of the franchises I've never played/gotten into, in particular - GT, GoW, MGS, R&C. While I'm skeptical of the current lineup, it's possible the games will be far better than I expect (like Uncharted), and it'd suck to miss out. Also, I sorta gave my PS2 away, so...

Originally I purchase the 360 for Halo and FPS online and my PS3 strictly for JRPG. Now my PS3 is for Blu-Ray/DVD player and the occasional sitting stool.

I want to be able to play whatever I want. Plus, when I buy two games on different consoles, and the clerk says ,"I'm sorry, sir. But this game is for a different console" It's priceless when I say ,"Yeah. I know."

I bought a PS3 day one, cause it's a playstation and sony has never disapointed me. Then I bought a 360 last summer cause I wanted to play some new gen RPG's ...

PS360 is fine, they offer plenty of different experiences. If you have a gaming PC though, it is kinda pushing it.

Best combination is PS3/Wii/DS/PC. That way you'll get all the big HD games, the best of handheld gaming and... those 2 or 3 really good Wii games...

It's the only way to get MGS4, Resistance, Uncharted, Motorstorm along with Halo, Gears, Mass Effect and Fable. So it's the best combo. The only Wii game I REALLY want is SMG, besides I don't really have time for all 3 consoles. I also have both handhelds so that's enough for me.
