The site is in no need of vigilante mods banning others as they see fit.

Mods are choosen because they're logical, friendly, regular users who are most importantly very trustworthy.

(I would assume anyway.)

Simply because you have over 5000 posts, does not automatically imbue you with the qualities common among our vgchartz overlords.

How about just hiring more mods >_>

I've noticed all the mods have said it is a terrible idea yet not a single one of them was around when some dick was posting gay porn, shit eating and diseased penises with a 12 year old on the site.

If it's such a terrible suggestion be modly and come up with something better, because while this was only an isolated incident, the aim should be to try and ensure it doesn't happen again.

You can ban them for a day until a mod gets on the site to perma ban the user though.

At least this is a solution. 

Giving out a short ban should at least stop the guy from posting for a while, stop him bumping the threads and keep it off the front page. Or what about post-editing privileges?

We need more Australian mods.
I'm usually on in the afternoon when all the Europeans/Americans are in bed. Shams, an Australian, was the one who banned that guy.

^ I realise it's not a common occurence and the mods generally are really good but we should aim for it not to happen again. If that means hiring a couple of extra mods, then great.

it would need a time on site requirement, say one year on site minimum, though 2 years might be better.
