well said and very true but you will still get a lot of shit for saying that.

the week before Christmas does not equal the whole year
More often then not, PS3 and 360 software sales seemed to be equal to their attach rates in America during 2008. Of course weeks with big releases on either side would alter things, but PS3 software has been selling quite well compared to its install base.
People bought PS3 games in Japan last week!!! How the hell can anyone say "PS3 can't sell software"???!!!
4 ≈ One
well ironically many PS3 fans like to throw out the attach rate in areas where the 360 has a much bigger userbase, but refuse to do it in Japan. Same could be said the other way around in some occasions i'm sure. Personally I don't like attach rates at all but of course it is a factor it's just not measurable by a stat like attach rate and as the userbase gets reasonably big it matters much less.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I do not think userbase should ever be counted in this particular debate. Reason being...
If the game was really worth getting, the person would have bought the system. I mean, that is what should decide a console purchase right? Games that you want being on said system. None of the RPGs on 360 are worth buying that system, at least in the Japanese's eyes. That is why they barely bought it. Some, but not many. PS3 on the other hand many did, or will think certain games are worth the purchase in JAP so they buy those.
A little more time and research is needed to make it official but WKC has to no surprise done better then every RPG released on the 360 as of yet. it is the first TRUE JRPG on the PS3 (Not including ARPGs, SRPGs, and WRPGs, like Folklore, Oblivion,Disgaea 3, and VC) And it truly is not that big of budget. I believe Lost Odyssey was probably way bigger in production value.
This pretty much rectifies the implication that companies like SE made a good decision by going multiplat becuase they would not make any money by staying exclusive to PS3. WKC proves(from what seems to be a really good selling game in Japan) that the PS3 really IS the way to go for JRPGs.

PS3 26Million Hardware WW lol, you mixed them up
"Attach rate", as in "How many games are sold per console sold" is important to the maker of the console, to determine if it is profitable, in the case where the console is sold at a loss.
From a SOFTWARE sales perspective, total sales are what matter, not what percentage of consoles actually own the game, or how may games each console owner purchases.
