They own FFVII. They decide where it goes. By claiming which is the more fitting system, you are claiming you know which is best for them.

Common guys, stop fighting about this stupid FFVII remake... I think all of you got some kind of a point.

The Wii and the PSP have more or less the same userbase at the moment, so you can't say where the money really is. Of course, the Wii's base is only growing and until such a game would be released, it would be quite a bit more than it is now, but on the other hand, WoW has a point with the "better fitting lineup" on the PSP, though this is not about artistic style or anything, but more about a userbase highly interested in a FFVII remake.
So the Wii seems to be the console with more potential, but also more risk. Also, a FFVII remake would probably move consoles anyway, so it doesn't matter too much on which console you put it. However, as most of you said already, we are probably far away of such a remake anyway since Square has enough other things to milk currently, so please do all stop arguing since you're going nowhere anyways.

On topic, I think RE and GTA spinoffs are a given, and Konami will also put some kind of Castlevania on the Wii sooner or later (apart from Judgement I mean.) Square Enix is probably going big with FFCC now that they see how the Wii is selling, so I expect this to be great. We also have DQX from them, so they are more or less settled for now. It would still be nice though to see KH and Mana, but as others have said, Mana needs to be newly invented, or, even better, brought back to the roots.

I have already defended my comment in the above post and will not waste time doing so again.

I don't enjoy pedantic comments.  I know you love making them but your routine is growing stale and is no longer amusing.

Feel free to stop whenever... or now.

It's not about "defending". You asked where you did something, and I pointed out where you did it and why.

But you seem to like ignoring relevant parts of arguments just to pretend they are weak. I'm through with your strawman crap.

all I can say is the meltdown will be epic if FFVII goes to the Wii or Ds....

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Come on! I didn't create this thread to start an argument about FFVII destiny, also there is no existence of a remake of that game (better, when a game is a masterpiece the best is not to spoil it).

Some of you have already talked about it: I want a Resident Evil....but a NEW Resident Evil with zombies and a Resident Evil that makes you feel scared just like when you felt that Nemesis was going to appear(re3) or when some zombies' arms appeared through the window(re2).

"when a game is a masterpiece"

I feel it could have some improvement.

I don't know about a full-blown HD remake of FFVII (prolly would be too costly to develop), but as for a Wii-make... hey, u never know. It was rumored awhile back that Square was gonna update it for PS2, and with Wii selling as fast as it is, it would then be the next obvious choice for a remake.

Most likely though, the original would prolly just appear on XBL or PSN as a download with maybe some minor enhancements a la Symphony of the Night.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Really, there'll never be a FFVII remake on Wii, nor on PS360 unless sales will improve dramatically especially in Japan.

They could go handheld as with the earlier remakes, and then I see PSP as a possibility, or they'll want to make the most visually stunning game ever but then they'd also want the sales to match the dev costs, hence they'll want it on a big userbase.

Yeah,  but there Final Fantasy remake train is getting old....

I mean, they're up to 6... so that means either report on the PSP or move up to 7.

Unless they skip to 8.

....Five came out and six was announced when I wasn't looking?

No.  I mean.. 6 is the next in line.  They don't have much more they can remake for the DS unless they move to less proven franchises.  Which i guess CT might of been an expierment for?

I say they should go all out. Port it to XBL, PSN, the DS, and remake it for the PSP and Wii, since that would be less expensive than a full HD remake.
