As for you, lanjiaona, stop trolling. Got tired of trolling the PS3 an moved on to the Wii?

I think the Wii Bingo board should get an update in general. In two years there's been a lot of new crazy reasons to why the Wii will fail. We're seeing a lot more lame excuses to why the Wii simply doesn't count now. =P
To be fair, Burce is still a better analyst then many others. He does back up his claims with several reasons. There horribly idiotic reasons that make no sense such as "The Xbox 360 is a huge amount better than the Wii.", but he does have them, that's further then a lot of analysts ever get.
stop trolling under an alternate account whoever you are... unless you just made this account here to hate on the Wii.
People have been calling for its demise for years now... when are you gonna learn.
So what does MS has left? Can they just keep dropping their price forever? The PS3 is starting to pull away in graphics? I guess this is the end of the 360...
You see with all 3 consoles you can reason yourself into believing they will die sooner enough...
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Calm down, Bigjon. He's just posting an old article.
*facepalm*
Most analysts do not care to really study the market and arrive to stupid conclusions due to their laziness to really analyze the market values Nintendo Wii offeres to the consumer. The Wii will over and over again prove them wrong as the system advances in the path of disruption.
why do analyst not take into account that the Wii is the console that consumes less power of all three? I mean come on, in the long run is a money saver and cheaper than all other consoles. In times of recession, saving money is an important factor.
Game library is not Nintendo's fault, and very good games are comming in 2009 and all you have to do is a little research that these Analyst do not do.
(I will post about the gaming genres and the consoles later on)
there is no denial that Nintendo's online service is different from Live and PSN. But most customers do not get online and less willing to pay for an online service they will not use frequently. Live is the online gaming heaven for hardcore players, but it's not the number one appeal in the expanded market.
Nintendo is well aware that they must keep the momentum going and they do not rest in that matter.
........
I see so many things wrong in the article, it's more a wishful thinking than a real analysis. And it's even more incredible that they are getting paid for their stupidity
oh well....
Geezz, I have been hearing this stuff since BEFORE the Wii was even launched.
The name Wii is stupid, so no one will buy it.
It is not HD, so no one will buy it.
MS describes it as a "toy" for "kiddies", so no one will buy it.
There appears to be only one group in the whole world that is upset that the Wii is doing well (and they can't stand it). They are males 13-20 who own a 360. How insecure this bunch must be that instead of spending time playing their "superior" console, they spend all their time in forums like this talking about the Wii. They spend so much time researching the Wii, stating statics, posting charts and graphs, and giving us their opinions on why the Wii must fail. Are they trying to convince Wii owners, or themselves? I own a Wii. Not a 360. Not a PS3. The other 2 consoles are great, but I have neither the time or the money to play all the great games each console has to offer. Everyone has 3 choices for consoles and there is not a bad one in the bunch. Everyone has their favourite and that is way it should be.
In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

You're right. The goalposts keep moving, and they can only be moved back so many times before you need to move the whole field with them.

It is inevitable that the Wii will see lower sales than it has seen over 2008 but that doesn't mean that lower sales are in its immediate future ...
Last year at about this time people were predicting that the Wii was going to struggle in 2009 because big games (like Grand Theft Auto and Metal Gear Solid) were going to convince the typical gamer that the HD consoles were better gaming systems than the Wii; as we all know, this year the Wii sold about 25 Million consoles and the HD consoles sold about 21 Million (combined).
Now, lets look forward to 2009 ... Compared to how the 2008 line-up looked in December 2007, and how the 2007 line-up looked in December of 2006, the 2009 third party line-up for the Wii looks like its best ever while the line-up for the HD consoles looks like their weakest line-ups ever. If 2009 plays out in a similar fashion to how previous years have in this generation (and the Wii's line-up grows from new announcements, and the HD consoles are plagued with delays and exclusive games becomming multiplatform) it is quite possible that the Wii's third party line-up could actually be similar or better than the HD console's third party line-up. Now, I'm not going to argue that the Wii will have a better line-up than the HD consoles, but it seems remarkably foolish to predict that the Wii will fade away and the HD consoles will rise when the quality of library for the Wii compared to the HD consoles will be its strongest ever.
