No, history will regard the Wii as leading gaming into a new era, look at the NES, it was underpowered compared to many competitors and had a lot of shovelware, yet people only see it as the console that saved gaming

Well, no console before it had done it, so it is impressive. It's just as impressive, however, as the Wii being the fastest selling console in history. I think both milestones should be credited.

I do agree though that his post does lack some substance. Maybe he'll elaborate.

But there have been only seven generations, and to make that statement is insane. How many consoles have there been? 40? 50?

no...I don't see that happening.

In order for the Wii to reach and then surpass PS2 sales, they would need to also have all the hardcore gamers on board with them apart from just the causal, as well as having every AAA 3rd party game even if multiplaform on the wii, these are 2 things the wii lacks, and this is my reasoning to why the wii won't touch the PS2 sales.

NO, just because wii is selling faster doesnt mean its gonna outsell PS2. GBA was also selling faster than PS2 but it didnt outsold it worldwide. And why do we have these threads every 2 months??
