Theres no way Nintendo would make a 2D Metroid on WiiWare. Why would they sell it for 10 to 20 bucks when Nintendo knows they could package it and sell it in a store for 40 to 50?

But man do I want a new 2D metroid.

I think it will be a while for metroid though

Wow, nice work, very good detail.

To Each Man, Responsibility

This game will easily be the best of the Prime series. Retro have learnt from the mistakes of Metroid 2, and have had the time to basically, as quoted by Nintendo in interviews, "make this game PERFECT".

If this had multiplayer, this would be a total Halo killer.

It definately kills Halo in single player! Anyway I also would love to see a new 2D metroid. I think going with the NSMB style [3D character/2d backdrops] would be awsome.

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

They could always sell it for the same price that they sell it to stores for, which is less than retail price, and they'd also save money on packaging and shipping.

Heck, if they did it right they could sell it for less and manage to make more money.

Metroid was the very first game I ever played (excluding arcades).  I got it on my B'day with the NES and SMB.  Some of my cousins and friends crashed my place, we decided to play Metroid first (since no one had played it yet).  From the moment the game loaded, we were glued to the screen... we didn't stop playing till we realised the sun was up - and when you're that young an all-nighter was a big deal!

The game, the atmosphere, and having my closest buddies around made it a night I will never forget.  Till this day, Metroid has a special place in my heart (along with back to the future ).  It remains my favorite game ever.  I'm yet to play any of the Prime series, and hope I can get my hands on them before corruption.

super metroid is still to this day one of my favourate games ever. Its also the only game that my sister ever played apart from wii sports, tetris and brain training.

I think most ppl could agree that when it comes to updating a franchise to 3d, nintendo are the dogs bollucks. mario 64, metriod prime and zelda ocarina spring to mind.

ID LOVE to see a hd 2d metroid game on the wii after they make metriod prime 3

I couldn't think of a better title for Ninty to release on WiiWare to kick the service off ;)

The 1st Metroid was the 2nd "console" title I ever played/owned. Super Mario Bros was the #1st, and Kid Icarus was the #3rd. No wonder these are still some of my most loved games ever.

Not good. Not good. Now I am excited. They have to do this!

Not good because I will get disapointed if they don't.

Okay everyone...new questions

1) What is your favorite weapon or upgrade from the series?

2) What is your favorite room or level?

3) Which game was the most difficult?

My favorite weapon is the Ice Beam, that is so Awesome, and i like Ice in videogames so pwnage 4 me.

Favorite room is in prime, it has a waterfall which goes over some rocks and looks awesome, it was also a very quiet room, just really ambience filled.

Most difficult....Prime 2.

1) My favorite upgrade would have to be (and maybe I'm breaking some rules here) the combination of screw attack and space jump in Super Metroid. Both on their own are cool enough, but it is the complete sense of power and destructive force you contain when equipped with these two items that makes you seem almost invincible. It is truly a feeling that hasn't quite been replicated in the series since. The limited screw attack in Echoes gets close, but doesn't have the precision nor the longevity. Five somersaults pales in comparisson to the infinite number possible in Super Metroid.

2) My favorite room would probably come from the first game in Brinstar. It is the room just before you get the varia suit. If you have the freeze beam you can get this item earlier than expected by allowing one of the corkscrew enemies to join you from the corridor below. While I'm not very good at sequence breaking in the Prime Series, the original games were made for it. This was the first sequence break I discovered.

3) The original Metroid will always stand out to me as the most difficult because it was the one that frightened me the most. I wasn't allowed to play games very often when I was a kid, so I had to play the game at night close to the tv with a cover over my head so my parents didn't see the light from under the door. Truly immersive gameplay experience there.

If this game is anywere as crppy as Red Steel I am done with the Wii altogether. I am not exited about Mario and I dont want to play smash bros on the gamecube another 5 years. This is Nintendos last chance at getting me to buy this system. I put 1700 dollars into my Gamecube and it never matched the Xbox or PS2 in fun and depth of gaming, and the Wii has been even worse to this point. Nintendo please give me a reason to be a three console guy again, make this game be better than Warhawk, Lair, Heavanly Sword, and Halo3.

I am surprised to see that you care about MP3 at all...

your top 10 games your most excited for were

"1. Home
2. Killzone 2
3. Uncharted
4. Metal Gear Solid 4
5. Final Fantasy 13
6. Heavanly Sword
7. Singstar
8. Lair
9. Ratchet and Clank
10. Little Big Planet
11. Gran Turismo 5
12. Warhawk
13. Infamous
14. Soccom Comforntation
15. Hot Shots Golf"

those are all PS3 games.  Strange, why the sudden strong feeling about MP3?

ooh, and I really liked this one: "The only problem I have with the Wii is all the games are only as good as PS2/Xbox games with the added bonus of motion. " from this thread

Oooh ooh oooh, and this one: What's the worst that could happen? "Wii- People all around the world wake up and relise 6 good games will be out on the console by the time Mario Kart hits and their is nothing slated for the next to years worth playing. Blu-Ray or HD-DVD go over very well making HDTV sales go up even more and people attach the Wii and relize that the game look worse than before (bad day for the PS2, 360 and N64 when it happend to me) and go out and get a PS3 or 360. Everyone gets bored of playing wii sports at thheir friends house and decides not to get a wii."

"PS3- People continue to only look at what today brings and not what will be coming in the next 12 months. HD-DVD kills of Blu-Ray. Uncharted and Ratchet are moved back to 08. 116 million people forget what console they have been playing for the past 12 years. "

I hope you enjoy MP3. :)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
