I consider next year to be the third "real year" of the generation as I really count from when the whole thing got underway with the Wii and PS3 launches. Also I have a theory that the 360 will be up 50-60% anyway from the price cuts/excellent holiday sales. I hate making predictions which don't make me sweat so I bumped it up from 175k to 200k to give myself some added pressure. I felt too comfortable with 175k, and IMO the only good predictions are the ones that make you sweat.

But .. but there are 52 chances you could go wrong!! if you get 45+/52 right I will be proud none the less :)

I do see next year being the 360's top year, it will be at mass market price ALL year. Lets see what a shooterbox that isnt called playstation can do in non holiday period.

That's logically impossible.  If it were true, then a console's sales would only ever increase year over year.  A good holiday would lead to better sales the next year, including a better holiday, leading to better sales the year after that, and so on and so forth.

The ps2 should be selling over 20 million a year by now!

Seems incredibly optimistic.

If we say that X360's 09 holiday will be equal to the 08 holiday (unlikely, 08 had a price cut) that means that X360 will sell 4.5-5M in the last 9 weeks.

So 225K * 43 = 9.7M.

You're expecting that the 360 will at the very least sell 14M in 09.

Excluding November + December, I'm fairly certain X360 will not even average 200K weekly.

I'm not going to have a bet about that though, as it would take 10 months to fulfill it.

So, if you are interested Squilliam, I'll have this bet.

In Q1 09, the X360 will not average 230K weekly (sell 3000K).

I'm not going to accept your other bet, as I feel to certain I'd win. This bet, however, I feel is pretty 50/50 who wins. You should feel that you're certain to win though.

I don't know what terms I'll have (or rather who should be the third party), so I'll let you choose. (I will have to accept who it is though, I'm not going to let Leo-J control my sig).

 Okay, Makingmusic476 gets control over the losers signature for 2 weeks.

If X360 sells 2990K or less, you win. If it sells 2991K or more, you win. Q1 2009.
