Don't get me wrong, it's a great title. But i think it was because of all their PMSing about not getting Kid Icarus and getting Wii Music instead that made them decide not to give it to Nintendo for Brawl or Kart.

Maybe it is the case with ign. Did they left some highly reviewed game out of goty-nominees for wii or what are you complaining about? @zleep If you call me a troll, is it ok if I also insult you? |
@Twestern: If this isn't trolling, I don't know what is. He's acting like his opinion about games he's never played on a system he has a clear bias against is relevant. His comments are specifically designed to encite arguments. He has no real interest in this thread beyond that. He has no Wii, hasn't played any of these games (and if he tries to play the "I played it at a friend's house" card, there's no way he could have played it enough to be qualified for this discussion), and he's trying to talk crap about them to piss off already upset forum members. This is classic troll; you just have to read a little harder on this one (I know you're busy with all the reports and don't have time to analyze the relationship between every post).

And Tetris DS doesn't have a lot of bonus content and a game like Geometry Wars 2 or Bomberman Live both have more content than Tetris DS has so it's not like Tetris DS wouldn't be a plausible downloadable game. |
And SSBB isn't fun because of the massive amounts of bonus material. But it does add to the game experience. His argument (if I'm right) is that even if the base games are just as fun on WiiWare etc. as on disc, the WiiWare (etc.) games are generally more lacking in such bonus material, which is extra content that then gives standard Wii (etc.) games the edge.

Did you miss the part where he said he owned the game? It's on the PC too.
And as I said, he's being civil and respectful considering half the thread is attacking him. Why shoud you or I care if he doesn't agree with your opinion? If I see him actually trolling, believe me, I will do something about it, but him just disagreeing with you is not trolling.
Now, please drop the issue. If you really feel he's trolling you can report him again and hope someone other than me sees it and they think the same you do but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think you missed my point. He owns no Wii, but claimed that he never cared for any of the games (World of Goo is not the only game on the nominations list). I didn't know it was possible to care one way or another for a game you didn't play. My point is not about World of Goo. I have no objection to him talking about it. I just think that it's stuff like those comments above that makes it clear that he's got this idea of Wii sucks (or Wii games suck) and is going to throw it about this thread without caring about things like facts or experiences playing games. He's not be a retard, granted. He's not flaming everything in sight, true. However, you don't have to do either of those things to be a troll. He's being a pretty polite troll, but he's still just trying to start arguments because he dislikes Wii games. You could argue that he's really just giving his opinion and no one's agreeing with it, but you can't give an opinion (or, at least, an opinion that is recognized on this site--see section 4 of the rules, bullet point 2) without having anything to back it up.
I know you said drop it, but I just wanted to make what I was saying clear, since something was miscommunicated the first time. If you still feel like that's not trolling in light of this, I'll move on.
Edit: Analogy might help. Say you were watching an awards show for the top football player of the year, and your mom walks in as the nominees are being shown. Now, she knows little to nothing about football, but begins to make comments like "Player A, B, and C suck" and "Player D totally deserves the award." This might annoy you, especially if you felt different from her. You might even start an argument with her. Now, if she continues in this argument, there's nothing it can be attributed to beyond her wanting to argue. She knows nothing about the subject and the winner doesn't really affect her.

Who cares if someone trolls? It's just a forum man cool out. Direct your hate @ ign

Just replying this.
Is there that much difference between GH:WT on wii and GH:WT on 360? Or how about PES, is it possible to dislike a football game just because it is a football game? I haven't played a lot of brawl, but I failed to see the difference between brawl and melee. I just don't like them. Granted, I haven't played de blob. Just because I would not care about that kind of game ever, regardless of the platform.
Also I never said that any of those games sucked, I just said that I haven't cared about them.
de blob was pretty boring. Anyone check the Nintendo Channel stats on it recently? I kind of doubt the average play time would be that high.
By the way, Nintendo Channel is much more reliable than reviews. Gamers > Critics. I promise you WoG will never reach 1/2 the played time of Mario Kart, nor will it surpass the played time of Wii Fit.
I have yet to purchase world of goo but it is up there on my list of WiiWare to get, and not because of any reviews but because I have been told by people whom I trust their judgement in games that it is freaking awesome, so I expect it to be freaking awesome :)
Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.
One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Reliable at what? This shouldn't be a popularity contest, but ofcourse a 1st party game is going to achieve more total play time than a game you can't buy in a regular b&m store for now. That said, game awards shouldn't be a barometer for how well-recieved a game is, period.
I'm having a tough time wraping my head around why this game winning goty from one particular media outlet is so bothersome. It's not like Imagine: Party Babyz won the award. World of Goo is an absolutely fantastic game, one that deserves every ounce of praise it has got so far. WoG winning goty sends an extremely positive message to small developers, one that shows them that greatness is not out reach because of a small budget and limited development resources.
