Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony to Lose $1.66 Billion U.S. - Six Time Greater Then Anticipated

How is he a troll? posting a news artical about sony?

Don't like it? Don't post. It really is THAT simple.

"Tabata expects Sony to report a net loss of 150 billion yen ($1.66 billion), six times greater than previously expected."

That must be worrying for Sony.

Going into the full 3rd year in this generation, I wonder if Ken Kutaragi regrets having overengineered this system..or if he simply doesn´t give a rats ass about the PS3´s situation...

Isn't he retired ?

I think he is, but that doesn´t stop him from 'secretly' regretting it(or not).

Remember the days when the 360 was losing and we didn't have the constant 360 trolls like gebx, legend, and stickball posting so much?

Good times!

Trolls always come out of the caves when the sun is shining.

PS3 trolls must be nocturnal.

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

I'd expect some big losses for the specialist electronics companies at this time. Most electronics are luxury items at best and not cheap so they all must be feeling the pinch a bit. Although, $1.6 billion loss is about what they made in 2006-07 wasn't it? Can't remember but even with PS3 running at a loss, they have made money in their other divisions for years (well most anyway)

Hmm, pie.

Vizio sets are equally high in quality IMO.  I have used 2 so far, and see no difference between them and the Bravia.  My Vizio is a 120Hz, 1080p, 4-HDMI port TV.  It even comes with one HDMI cable for free.  Vizio has a great warranty and good customer service, as well.

Also, we know how much people have been choosing "perceived quality" over price these days.

I agree, Microsoft should have added bumpers, but I have a feeling the added cost to change all their existing units, and to update their manufacturing process would have added up to more than $.50 per console.  Even so, as long as you use the console in the horizontal position and don't do anything stupid to it while a game is playing, you will be fine, and MS saved 12.5 million dollars! But that's off topic.

EDIT:  From the Wal-Mart website, it appears even the Samsung and Toshiba TV's are priced quite a bit below Sony's.

I have no problem with constant negative Sony news, but I have to say Vizio has crap picture quality.

Yes the spec on the paper is basically the same but the difference is there when you put a Sony/Samsung with a Vizio side by side.

And who cares who posts the news?
I'd rather have it posted, and I could care less if who posted it, AS LONG AS IT'S POSTED!

Gebx didn't even add his own comments to the article.
Just the article.
What's there to bitch about?

This is borderline depressing. I really hope Sony can turn this thing around. I wanted them to be a bit more humble. Not this.

sony bravia tv's are the best on the market, no question, but their price is so high no one but rich people buy them. kinda like the ps3, it is ....., but its high price keeps people from buying it.

Clever response. LOL
