IMO no. To me, its just not the same. Whenever I get onto PSN I get this lonely feeling. Its like im playing by myself. Probably because nobody talks.

Hmm, since I saw this topic come back and I was getting angry with R:FoM and decided it was time to quit for the day, I decided to give Home another try:

• The Hell?  I don't always start in my apartment?  Not a gripe, just odd I guess.  Do I ever actually have a reason to go back to my apartment?
  
• Had to download the theatre again
• Try to watch the previews but there are people and text bubbles in the way so I leave the theater.  If I want to watch the same preview over and over again, I have the internet to watch them in better quality.
• Have to download the central plaza again
• Is it really just playing the same preview over and over again?  This is the 5th time now I've seen the rocket boy preview while waiting for the central plaza to download.  Oh yes, the future of home entertainment is watching the same short preview over and over again.  Maybe they keep showing it over and over again so each time I can see different parts since so much of it is obscured by text bubbles.
• And now I'm just watching a progress bar because I'm sick of watching the same preview over and over again.  Why is it taking so long to get a 20.5mb download?  I have a stupid fast connection.
• Weeee, central plaza downloaded now lets wait for it to load!
• Play Saucer Pop for a few minutes-- boring game with pathetic frame rate
• still getting choppy frame rate walking around the central plaza
• Find a bubble machine and apparently it's a fun bubbly toy
• Still get a scene download error when I try to enter this one building and get stuck again-- it's good to see they're really taking advantage of this "beta" and fixing this bugs!...oh, wait.
• Try to go to the bowling alley...and it has to download again.  At least this one is going much faster, maybe I won't get up and make a sandwich.
• What is this damn hip hop music that keeps playing?  Is there anyway to change it?
• bad frame rate for about the first 30 seconds I'm here.  Maybe I'm only getting the shit framerate on area load.
• What do you know, every pool table is taken.
• so is every bowling lane
• ...and of course every arcade machine too.
• See dudes huddled around a hot girl dancing-- $10 it's a dude.  lol, they're asking the "chick" if they can be their friend or if she wants to come with them.  God people are pathetic.  What is ji?
• I wait a minute to play ice breakers, it gets free, I press the button, the menu comes up to play it, and before I press the button to play someone ran up and snagged it.  Fuck you guy.
• make another run through the bowling alley and everything is still taken.  Fuck this.

Yeah, so I gave Home two weeks and it's still just as bad as before.  It still even has the game breaking error I got two weeks ago, beta my ass!  Has anything even changed in the two weeks?  I assume something has changed since I had to download all the areas again.

And still the waiting for games.  When I last bitched about that people told me it was because Home was new and crowded.  It has now been two weeks and it's a Monday in the middle of the afternoon and still nothing was free.

So yeah, I'm gonna go with Live is still the better service.  I may have to pay for it, but you generally get what you pay for.

Atleast on Xbox Live there are people chatting in-game, thanks to the mic bundling.
PSN is a silent as f*ck, since hardly anyone has mics.

Microsoft understands the importance of online play to gamers now, and they've crafted an interface that reflects their deep understanding. Sony, doesn't get it and they haven't since launching PSN with the PS2. Being free in and of itself doesn't make PSN better. It just makes it cheaper, and we all know the adage, "you get what you pay for," which in Sony's case is not much.

wrong.............if on market place u could download a bowling game with 4player coop to use with the new nxe avatars.......live users would have paid fo that.......same goes for pool.......on home both them games are free..........stop making out home to b something its not ur a mod at least tell the truth...........the basic feature of live gold is that u can play ur games online, thats what u pay for 39.99........i play my games on psn with more stable connection for free..........so psn is obviously better..............the only flash based games re them small arcade ones with more will b added again its for free........so quit complaining

I keep hearing this arguement alot PSN is better than LIVE BECAUSE IT,S FREE,how much longer do u think it will b free??with the way things r going financially for sony i think it won,t be long b4 we start to see some sort of payment required to play for free on psn,i for one feel sony made a mistake by having a free network as that is a lot of money just slipping through they fingers and boy we all know they need to have so cash coming steady.for the people comparing psn to live forget it live is better in my opinion,u get what u pay for.I LOVE LIVE,LONG LIVE XBL.

Bowling and pool may be free on Home but I have no idea on the quality of those games because I have not been able to play either because there's always a freaking line.  If paying for Live means no lines then that alone is enough for me.

 

Xbox Live IMO has two downsides. Price. And those foul mouthed 10 year olds on Halo. Shut up, no cares about he cheated, call me when you're voice doesn't bring Spongebob and Mickey Mouse swearing at the same time.
