the "areas" took like 20 seconds to downloand, the vids: about 15. I didn't have too much trouble getting into a bowling game, but they really, REALLY need to add a lot more lanes and more pool tables and more arcade games. I do agree the mall and theater are crap though and theres' not really a whole lot to do in your home space.

A little harsh, but I have to agree on the loading - options to just get stuff streaming right away would make a lot of sense. Perhaps even an initial prompt to download all main areas right away?

Still, I do think it has promise - just not sure for what yet!

Also agree on the games front. It's virtual so I don't see why the table has to be occupied - just fire up another instance for the new player surely? I certainly won't be waiting around in a virtual mall for 10 minutes to play virtual pool.

On the other hand I do like the look even if it is a little 'Stepford PS3 players' if you know what I mean.

Oh, and they really need to add ability to listen to your music from the HDD while in home, and give every apartment a free TV/Radio that accesses your local media.

I liked Twesterm's take on home. Not everyone is going to like it, and guess what, if he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to log onto home ever again in his life. That's the beauty of it. Compared to the other services which you're shackled to, this is by far the best part of it. Those who don't like it can delete it from their Hard drive and never see it again, if they so choose.

On that note:

I enjoy home. I don't experience frame-rate problems, unless the HDD is loading/saving something. Then while the HDD signal at the top of the screen is there, I just don't do anything, it goes away after like seven seconds. There is lots of customization, which is cool with me. My avatar looks almost like me. Perfect. The dancing part is fun as hell, and the theater is fine. Playing right now is a trailer for Wanted and a music video for it. It's like ten minutes long, so it takes abot 3-4 minutes to load (that's what it took me).

Loading the plaza took me like 1.5 minutes, and everything else was like a minute or so. Maybe the problem was that 10 million people may or may not have been trying to do the same thing. >_>

But we know this is twesterm, who hates anything Sony, so whaddya expect? Someone who complains about losing 20 mins of PSP battery life on a new model is going to be a complete douche about home. ^_^

See I'm with DM, I didn't check out all the area's I admit, I didn't really have the time :D But I had no REAL problems with home what-so-ever. I mean seriously, I didn't go to home to play mini-games, I'm on my PS3. I want home to be for the in-game lobbies, the meeting people to play games with, finding more people with headsets to befriend :P I guess home is just what you make of it, and if you want to use it to play mini-games, then your probably going to be disappointed, if you hated waiting around for games, complain to people in home :P Talk to them, that's what it's there for.

Wow, there are some whiny people in this thread who are outright misrepresenting facts too.

For one, the mall does have a lot of items for sale in it.

Two, a lot of people aren't even mentioning some of the side areas like the Uncharted room (has some good stuff) and the Far Cry 2 room (less cool stuff, but cool environment).

Home's not perfect, but simply hating on it because you can, especially when you are misrepresenting what is actually on Home, is just plain childish.

im still having probs loggging on.........i got on last nite and it seemed fun enough..........hopefully over tje coming weeks sony can fi it and add content..........overall from what i played last night it was impressive and best thing was its free............i think u will mostly find xbox fanboys hating on it..........theres nothing to hate on it its free and u dont hav 2 use it if u dont want to
