Forums - Sony Discussion - Deal of the Month: PS3 60gb for ... 349USD o_0

http://ps3mods.blogspot.com/2007/08/60gb-ps3-for-349.html

You have to sign up for a credit card, and you don't get the $150 credit in your statement until 8-12 weeks later, but it's a decent deal, especially if you were planning on getting a PS3 anyway. Also, because it's a blu-ray player, you also get the 5 free blu-ray deal, too. Check it out, it's a complete walkthrough of how to get it.

Yep on the sony site, just get a credit card, and they rebate 50 buks and you automaticly save 150 buks I think..for the 60gb.

Interesting...
The free Wii from GameFly is also a great deal :P

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

OT: That is a really nice deal for the PS3.

Yeah, there are two tricks:

  1. You have to sign up for their credit card.
  2. You have to make the purchase by August 31st and it can take up to 30 days to process your credit applications (and is likely to take near that long).

Definitely seems like a good deal at first (and I thought it was a good deal when I saw the email this morning before doing the research-- was considering it) but I would seriously shy away from this.  What's more than likely to happen is you apply for the card, get approved in September, and have a new card (that you must make a purchase on by November I believe) that will probably get you in more trouble than you need and probably doesn't have the best rates.

watch out....credit cards are the devil

Rule #1 of reality - If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

These credit card deals rarely make sense long term. The cards are high interest, bad terms, and just never worth it.

I signed up for a credit card to get a free sandwich once.

Really folks, credit cards are bad.  You should only use them for emergencies!

Credit cards are how most people find themselves deep in debt.  Paying your own way through life is how you get ahead.
