Those haven't been delayed recently. I had been hearing about 09 releases for Killzone 2 and Gran Turismo (for 2010) since E3. Same with Infamous. And unfortunately, Home will probably end up pushed back. Normally, there is decent quality behind the games that are pushed back so it's not really as big of an issue, I'll just play one of my other dozen games that I need to beat in the first place. I think Sony's main issue with FF is that they didn't push Square Enix nearly enough. I blame it all on Square Enix's indecisiveness over whether to make it a multiplatform. If they'd have announced it sooner than E3, I think FFXIII would have been out by now. But Sony seem to at least be doing a little better than earlier in the generation (imo). |
The other problem is as you mention, the length of development. Imagine if Gears 1 had been in dev as long as KZ2 it most likely would have looked like Gears 2 does. But pretty much have been the same game as originally it was. I'm glad you have games to still play on your PS3, because the owners I know are finding it difficult to want anything other than what they already have. There is to big a gap between the biggies on PS3. And you can quote me but on past record I expect at least 3 of the big games people on this forum state PS3 is getting next year to slip to 2010. Any 360 game M$ say is 2009 on past record I have full confidence. Thats the vision Sony has created for PS3 from my eyes. Very unreliable big game releases, resulting in disappointment.
There is a saying that making people wait to long will have them go elsewhere.
