I have seen a lot of people on the metal gear solid 4 page and others say how metal gear solid 4 is being undertracked by vgchartz and it seems like this is the case. I have seen this article last month so i thought i put it up. Konami sales report ending its fiscal year on september 30th show most of its earnings came from mgs 4 sales which passed 4 million sales, with over 3 million sold in just 2 weeks of its launch.

and how many times do we find people interrested enough to write and explain the difference between sold to consumers and shipped to retailers in these threads ? :)

Yep, weve gone over this many times, Kane, but you're newish so it's understandable. Sometimes forums just have to be prepared to state things over and over again as new people join. What Konami is stating is sold to retail, because Konami makes their money when the retailer buys the game from them. VGChartz (an other trackers like NPD) report sold to consumers.

The consequence is that -- for all games -- the number publishers give will always be higher than what we report. All games sold to consumers have been sold to retail, but not all games sold to retail have been sold to consumers.
