I find stuff like this so confusing it is incredible.

I for instance, have Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz but it somehow runs (is rated) at 3.89 GHz, which makes no sense to me.

What makes no sense? 2 cores at 2GHz each add up to 4GHz, substract a bit because the 2GHz is ideal and you've got your 3.89 GHz

A lot of people think this way but that's not how it works at all.

Your videocard (or lack thereof, as I think it's an onboard) needs to go. Get an 8800GT or something and start maxing out those games!

:O That made a lot more sense, and was a lot easier than I thought it was. Thanks.

Actually in my case that can't be true because I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz, and my computer is rated for 6.30GHz??

lol, Zexen, you cannot just add up the clock speeds of each core like that.  IGN got laughed for doing that with the X360 (3.2 x 3 = 9.6 Ghz).

Download CPU-Z and it will give you the correct data on your system.

And it is back to being incredibly odd. I figured that would happen :P

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

if you can find one, a 8800gs / 9600gso is a great budget card. I got a asus 8800gs 384mb for $53 after MIR and i'm really happy with it. Almost as fast as a 8800gt but for 1/2 the price.

yup, u can run the games now but with basic graphics and that kinda defeats the purpose of playing some of those games....they just need to be seen in all it's glory.

graphics card son

Graphics card is the current bottleneck for your system.

Radeon HD4670 should be less than $100 (excellent price/performance)

Radeon HD4850 about $150 (best price/performance).

Nvidia 9600GT around $100, 8800/9800GT about $120-130; both great price/performance cards as well.

Q6600 is a great CPU, even at the factory 2.4ghz. Unfortunately yours is installed in a BIOS locked preconfigured system. If it wasn't, your could easily overclock it to 3.3ghz on stock voltage and keep temps very manageable (mid-50s under 100% load) with a $30 aftermarket cooler like the AC Freezer 7 and some Arctic Silver 5 TIM.

Only way to get around that hurdle is to replace the motherboard which I can't recommend since it would mean having to buy another copy of Windows (OEM copies are tied to the BIOS of your motherboard) in addition to the hassle of essentially rebuilding your computer from scratch.
