Forums - Sales - 5 million Wiis could be sold in a week during Xmas sales period.

12 millions of Wii in december ?

No way : Nintendo is just producing 2,4 millions per month since... 1 or 2 month...

And I imagine that wii could sold  1 million in japan, 2 millions in NA and 2 millions in EU .  That mean 5 milions in december. Max.

I don't predict weekly sales very often, I prefer to predict more stable things such as the whole holiday season. For many months now, my prediction has been ~45 million total sold by the end of the year and I'm sticking to it.

In February, 50% market share.

In one week it will probably get 2 mil. Not much more.

Yeah, but 2 mil is still epic-record-breaking-huge. Which shows you how crazy 5 mil sounds. The demand is there, but the supply certainly isn't. Even if it was, Nintendo would have to advertise like crazy and maybe have some sort of special offer, to make up for people having to go through that kind of frenzy. I'm not sure they could even ship supply fast enough. I could see 3 mil during 09 or 2010, but 5 in 08... nah. I'd love to be proven wrong and see it happen. I feel a little embarrassed for the op, because I have a feeling some people may try to bring this thread up as much as possible for all the wrong reasons. Then again, there our few regulars on here, that said the PS3 could sell 5 mil in a week if it's price was cut to 300. Which is much crazier sounding, if you ask me.

this is right up there with JL predicting 500 million Wii sold LT.

apparently people need to a reality check

Why do you complain so much when people make a bad/very unlikely prediction? Tell them why they are wrong, or stop posting negative crap about people.

PS: I do realize the irony in that post.

well, for once, it reflects badly on this site, it's one thing for fanboys to argue over their favourite console/game, another for idiots to make predictions that is WAY out of the ballpark.

Simply put fanboyism =/= retardation.

Another, I'm just sick of prediction threads. Wanna make a prediction? Pretty something on it, Go on a voluntary 1 month leave if it doesn't come true. That should shut a lot of people up.

@kingofwale: If I recall correctly, John Lucas didn't make that prediction. He put up 500 million as an upper bound, quite different from predicting 500 million sold.

So you wherent the only one whom tried salvia today :P

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

More likely will be 10 million over November + December.
A 5 million week is completely out of the question. A 2 million week could very well be possible.

John Lucas did say 10 million, but he meant the quater and used december as a flagship month.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Didn't Gamestop recently say that they only had supplies that would last until early December? I think that the Wii supply will dry up early-mid December so at this point I'd say the figures are a bit optimistic. Anything could happen though.
