I prefer splitscreen over online every day of the week.

It's much more fun to beat the person that's with you in the room than some idiot 12 year old screaming F-bombs in your ear.

Everyone forgot about GoldenEye? Man, I still play that splitscreen once every while and it's still incredible.

Yeah, the only people who want splitscreen multiplayer seem to be those who are longtime nintendo fans. :p You know that you don't have to listen to some 12 year olds if you play online? You don't have to use headset (360) and even if you do, you can always mute those kind of people. Or you can team up with your friends..

I remember goldeneye, it was the sucky bond-game which my friend always wanted to play on his small television. Of course splitscreen, which is even worse on small tv. It really sucked. Hard. I can't believe how someone can think of that as a good game. Hldm, tfc, quake 2 and unreal tournament were just so much better then.

Lol, you're definitely in the minority here.

Metacritic: 96

Btw, not only Nintendo fans like splitscreen. Some people have a really weird idea of gaming, like it's always supposed to be a solitairy serious business. I guess you also prefer Fifa/PES online? Or fighters? Or race games?

There are loads of people on all consoles that like to game with friends in the same location. Sure it doesn't make the presentation better, but it does provide much more fun.

Isn't it pretty much agreed that review scores doesn't matter? I bet there are a lot of people who did not like goldeneye. Almost every pc-gamer, I guess. :) Just compare that game to hldm/tfc/quake2 or whatever pc-fps:s were back then.

What is your problem? We were talking about fps-games, which just are better online than splitscreen. I don't play fifa or pes, but for me it is pretty much the same if I play NHL against a friend on shared screen (yes, that does not suck as splitscreen) or online. Sometimes it is much more fun on shared screen, sometimes not. I don't really care for fighters, but I really haven't seen a splitscreen fighter. Racers, that is a tough call. I don't play a lot of multiplayer racers, but I have played forza online and on splitscreen. I prefer online. Mostly because my friends suck at forza, so their whining is quite annoying. :D

See the part where he says I bet their were a lot aof people that di not like GoldenEye?  I didn't imagine that.  Right?

You bet because you do not remember.

Now I think about it, are there tournaments and local match ups with the game like LAN games did?

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

Trust me. GoldenEye was much bigger than those games. Quake was the unnofficial sequel to Doom. It had a lot prettier graphics and a lot less enemies making it inferior to Doom.

I didn't realize that games were judged solely on sales.

That game Okami must be horrible then.

So if you speak about "bigger" games, what else could be used to measure that? Other than sales numbers. Review scores for quake, half-life, unreal tournament and goldeneye are pretty much the same, even though goldeneye was reviewed with console game standards. :p

And no, I trust my own opinion. :)

edit: I bet, because I can't speak for everyone. You might feel like you can speak for everyone, but that is not my style.

Yes. Their still are believe it or not.  It was the first multiplayer shooter on a console ever I believe to answwer on of your other questions.

@Esa-Petteri, sorry but you dont even knew what you're talking about why you're still posting?

You're not even a gamer in those times so how do you know? Do you mean there are LAN games on those times already?!!

Keep trusting your opinion and one day when you get older like me you might realize that you don't know everything. I looked at the shooters in your collection and not a single one would exist without that crappy Bond game.

Guys... Why are you trying to argue with someone who says Golden Eye was sucky?

If someone tells you they believe the Earth is flat, do you really think pointing out that it isn't is going to change their mind? For that kind of opinion to even form in the first place, they've got to be well beyond the point of reason.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Uh, what makes you think I was not a gamer back then? :) Also you could explain why I would not know what I am talking about. And yes, we had lan some lan parties as early as 1995...

@stof

You do know the difference between a fact and an opinion, right? ;)

You're right.  I just get angry when people attack my favorite game of that era.
