ease of use/ease of development priority #1.
What I think would be cool with the ps4 is that it could be bundled with a lots of stuff, and not just a sixaxis like the ps3 was. Something like a ps4, 2 controllers, a headset and a game for 400€/$ would be cool! And I'd also like to keep the trophy system the same, I mean to keep our "old" ps3 trophy score on our ps4! I guess we can also expect a 120HD and a free playstation network!
Do's:
*More RAM
*Same disc format
*Same architecture
*Better graphics card
*Free PSN
*Secure what Exclusives they have remaining lol
*Don't delay everything that could possibly work in their favor
*Faster BR speeds
*Bigger HDD
*Free Eyetoy
*Create their own Fighting game since they no longer have one (Tekken 6 now being multi plat)
Dont's:
*New disc format
*New architecture
*Stupid prices
*Shit advertising
*Delays which get delayed
*Ridiculous PR individuals who speak nothing but great amounts of BS hoping the world is gullible enough to fall for it
*Not taking their fan base for granted
*Do not mention the 4th, 5th or any thing other dimension of gaming that the next gen will bring through their console
*Make another Spiderman film where he dances!
What? Who ever said that Sony has enough resources and revenue (the gaming division) to make another console? Not going to bash the idea, but it would not work out for them if the console is more advanced than the PS3. The PS4 will be like the Wii-version of what the Wii is to the GameCube.
But still, I don't think it could be possible for a PS4. Just look at the sales of the PS3 right now. People who are not wealthy could not afford a PS4 if it happened to be just like the PS3. I still think the PS3 is too expensive as it is right now. Anything not under $300 is expensive, in my opinion.
I'd rather get married and have kids rather than worrying about a PS4 and how cool it is, seeing how experiencing life is a lot more fun (yet has risks) than a piece of metal you stick plastic discs into so that you can see pretty colors flash on a television screen while interacting with a joystick.

?!?!WTF??? yeah, the PS3 is to much money, but $600 isn't going to get you very far supporting a family. And as for desiring a mariage and kids, you should count yourself lucky, you have no idea the hell and loss of freedom you are asking for.
PS4 (which will have to come out by 2012 or earlier to have a chance to compete) needs to follow the PS2. First legitimate contender to market (Dreamcast was doomed and didn't have the cash to compete, sad) moderately priced and capable with an emphasis on marketing and 3rd party support. Its all about good games and copetitive pricing.

In 2012? I say they need 2GB of RAM.
I agree with the processor
32x might be a little difficult, but 16x at least.
Stay with SATA I think. Easier, cheaper.
Yeah, with those specs in 2012, I can see it launching at 300-350 bucks.
If the PS4 launches at $300, I guarantee it wins the generation. end of story.
that would be another loss leading strategy though surely, as the combined costs of the parts of their next system would have to be more than $300 at launch...and if not then it'll just be a PS3 with a new controller - why not just make a add-on accessory.
I think $400-450 is a good price for launch i mean come on you want there to at least be a reason for them to release a new console how much more of a technical advantage could the ps4 have over the ps3 if it launches at $300?
This is what I expect the PS4 will look like in terms of specifications.
Cell:
2 PPU (but each would be at least twice as fast as the current one)
16 SPEs:
Of those 16, 4 would be reserved for the OS and for the future interface technologies which require a lot of floating point power to run and there would be no SPEs turned off to improve yields as they work better in banks for 4 due to their bus layout.
GPU:
Custom designed, more fixed function than other designs as there is no point duplicating compute ability between the CPU and GPU when the GPU compute functions wouldn't need to be used. Essentially an even more RSX like RSX with more of the heavy lifting being done by the Cell instead.
Price: $300 for the basic SKU and $400 for an advanced version. They will use Blu Ray but they won't use a SSD as they are expensive and they have very limited space for media centre functionality.
Tease.
CPU - More powerfull 12-16 Core Cell
RAM - 2-4GB
Price - 350 and 450.
This is just what I expect...
4 ≈ One
