I thought the same thing till I played the Beta. I ended up buying it and its a great game. Sure they took 90% of the ideas from CoD4, but its the best WWII game since probably CoD2 (CoD3 sucked).

His predictions weren't high. He was misquoted. He said Gears would do over 3 million it's first week, meaning it's first full week, not the 2 days it would be counted for because it got released on a Friday. Go back into the topic, and he explains it in there.

Secondly, stick is not just reading off a number on some leaderboards and calling it a day. He actually has numbers he has to crunch to come at his predictions, and that is why they are typically very good.

scabab is just reading off the leaderboards, which don't account for additional sales of people that don't go online, so he just randomly tacked on 100,000. That isn't a good prediction, that is a guess. It doesn't account for rentals, multiple PSN accounts, or games that end up being shown off at your friend's house. scabab could very well be right, or he could be very off the mark, but in the end, it's nothing more than a guess.

freebird was the one who mentioned the 3/5ths rule for PS3 to 360 ratios. Usually that's pretty spot on with games like this(FPS), but let's wait and see.

Ultimately, my point to you is, what scabab and mrstickball do are not equal, and shouldn't be treated in equal reliability. stick knows what hes doing and scabab is reading off the leaderboards. Anybody could do that.

They did, but neither one really cared about that, one just wanted a game that he could play with his 2 daughters and wife and at the time I suggest Warhawk because it was the only one that had a 4 player SP for the PS3 as far as I remember, and the other dude was pretty much in the same boat, but just him and his wife, this dude actually  doesn't really use the internet a whole lot, sending him an email and I'm lucky to get a reply from him in a month, to be honest I believe he got the game more because of the headset because at one time Target had the bundle for $30.

 VGC has LBP NA LTD at 348k for the week ending Nov1, which would be Octobers sales. Way above NPD numbers.

I hear what you are saying, but this issue is more complicated than you may think.

Everyone calls it COD5,  and IGN had it listed (may still have) as COD5 in some sections of their site.

So unless you have some sort of evidence to the contrary, then it is more or less COD5.

Does this elude to the possibility that the next infinity ward COD will be COD6, or subtitled... I am not sure.

Infact I was thinking about this exact issue the other day.

I dont think double accounting will be a big part of COD5 yet, how many people even have double accounts and how many of those would even use that account just 4 days in.

At the rate its going by midnight tonight its gonna be around 420k maybe

you know what. If you don't believe ioi is tracking things correctly, set up your own sales estimate site. That way you can make sure that the games and consoles you like sell what you wish...

Or face the facts that the PS3 does actually sell less games per week than the other 2 consoles
