I agree with you ESPECIALLY on Nintendo parts

but overall for me this is the best gen.....due to the best game ever coming in this gen.

Dude, it just seems to me you are trying to find reasons why I should be a Sony fanboy. Why is that? It is somewhat eerie and disturbing.

It is not like what I am saying is untrue. Other then being more powerful then the Xbox, what else has it got that makes it Next gen (the hardware itself)? Nothing! 

Considering I have praised MS for everything they have done this gen and the risks they have taken to be more successful, you completely ignore the compliments and blindly only see the negatives.

Every year, we hear that next year will be the year of the PS3 and about the games that will come out. Every year something or another is delayed. If you have seen The Matrix, I am sure you will understand the meaning of cause and effect. The effects of the cause of delay mean; loss of fans, loss of earnings, loss of interest, loss of credibility and loss of customers. Is this a good thing? I believe not. I laugh at it and Sony should be worried. The delays and effects of delays may possibly be a key reason they are 3rd this gen and this having caused them to lose Exclusives which as a knock on effect has lost them more sales and more potential buyers.

Seriously dude, I will no longer justify myself, if you still can't see what the post is about and you still want to defend the console of your choice, it is definitely not worth me even trying to do so.

Your worst points were for PS3, yet you think it's the best. There's a name for that, isn't there?

I want to congratulate you on a well thought out opinion.  This should be a place to discuss your opinion, but there will always be fanboys that will get offended (maybe they even want you to crawl in a hole and die) if you like a different console better than they like.  They are a waste of time.

Fe-Hung, you are a real gamer because can form an opinion by looking at the strengths and weaknesses of each console and maunfacturer.  Congratulations.

I agree with what you said.  Sony has a very good product and many high quality games.  They get the message out wrong and usually announce games too early in it's production phase.

Wow, way to generalize! It's easy to spot a troll eh? I'm a PS3 fan, I spent over £400 on my PS3, which was over $800 then, and I can safely say it's been more than worth the money.

I agree with quite alot of the what the OP says, however, this generation is not the worst I'd say. Last gen you had the PS2 destroying everything, Nintendo a shadow of its former self and a new boy in Microsoft who really didn't know what they were doing. They made a couple of smart decisions like buying out Bungie before it could make Halo for the ps2 which set them up for this generation, and like Lolcislaw said, all three consoles are doing succeeding in one way or the other.

The Wii is obvious, it's set Nintendo up as the dominant force yet again so much so that less than 2 years into the console war people are proclaiming victory already (I still say theres a long way to go), the PS3, despite high prices and delays like the OP mentioned, is gaining ground on the 360 everyweek as well as pushing a new format and introducing a competition on consoles to XBL. And the 360 has made some real progress, especially in america (and rather surprisingly, it's gained some footing in Japan), and while yes it can be seen to be 'copying' its competitors, its simply offering the consumer more for their money by introducing more things for its console.

erm I think I may have to spell it out. The console is good, the way they market it, hype what it can do and what they bringing forward for it is bad. It is commonsense and logic to be able to differentiate between the console and things around it.

Take last gen for example.

The dreamcast was awesome but it lacked a DVD player and advertising was horrible. The games were awesome, but they lacked ccertain important things to make it successful. 

The Xbox was far better then the PS2. It had better graphics, sound, some of the best looking games with awesome gameplay were on the xbox (e.g Chronicles of Riddick, Ninja Gaiden, Otogi) and it had a hard drive where you could listen to custom soundtracks. Yet, due to issues around the console, the PS2 did better.

This gen, the PS3 IMO is a better console, but due to problems (partially they may have themselves to blame), they are 3rd this gen. Does it makes sense now?

i started gaming in the same gen as you, but for me the worst gen so far was the last. ps2 was excellent but the gamecube was awful compared to the n64 and the xbox was just a ps2 wannabe. i dont hate these 2 consoles but i just feel they didnt live up to theyre potential. the ps2 was the only one really worth owning.

this gen i feel the nintendo games whilst few and far between are better than their gamecube prequels and the 360 is a massive improvement over the original xbox. its kinda taken the ps2s role of being the home of good 3rd party support. like you say the ps3 is cool enough with games like LBP and uncharted etc.
