Forums - Sales - The MGS4 demo and its influence on sales..

I'm confused...

Is the OP saying that a demo would be a good idea, or that one was confirmed?

If there is one, it'll definitely help me decide whether to take the plunge or not.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

@Kyliedog

your completely wrongl......the controlls absolutely sucked in the first 3 games.....I am glad I dn't need to hold 3 buttons down to shoot properly anymore! The gameplya of MGS4 gave the series more!!

if you think your the only MGS veteran here....your gravely mistaken....most MGS fans have not only have had their expectations met but surpassed with MGS4

Please stop acting like your the only one who knows anything about MGS...

Right, so you don't disagree with the inconsistant timeline or anything like that, but you still think that MS4 which is a very story important game it is acceptable to just have a bad contradicting story?

Big Boss is meant to have been a Snatcher...I mean...come on...there is no reasonable defending of that decision.

You're blaming the wrong game for the plot issues.

It's MGS2 that introduced so much complete and utter bullshit into the franchise. It was so awful Kojima had to spend large portions of MGS4's plot trying to erase its bullshit from existence.  Yeah, it's not perfect, but when you make a game as awful as MGS2 it's impossible to correct it completely.

@the kitchenisn

there is one.....its OUT NOW! lol

@KylieDog

I agree with the walking on water thing....but remember Kojima's cryptic way of story telling.....he gives us sometimes symbold to identify things......are you sure nothing like that was given to explain anything?? If not then thats disappointing....

About Big Boss.....I personally feel that was the best bit actually.....him coming back put the series at an epic end!

but tecnically I already knew he was coming back.....remember the first MGS4 Poster released from Knami has his body on it!
______

The ONE gripe I have against MGS4 is that its trailers gave away WAY too many exciting moments (except for the Act 3 Scene ending which was the best) but still it gave away loads!

______

MGS2 & Oblivion the two games Naznatips HATES With PASSION.....however I will never understand why he does.....lol

{PS. I hope Fallout 3 restored your confidence in Betheasda}

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Little late. Already own it, loved it. Don't expect a sales increase or anything.

@darthdevidem01: the thing with vamp is that he was supposed to be a vampire, so walked on water is okay (well in kojima's world), but now you learn that he's not a vampire, just a human with the artificial blood... So raiden can run on water too???

I'm just gonna balance out here, and say that I absolutely loved MGS4, despite its heavy reliance on cut scenes.
MGS4 was my first MGS game, and after playing the second and third game, it still remains my absolute favorite. Mostly due to controls though, but MGS3 is very good as well. MGS2 was still good, but not on par with 3 and 4.
And to all the people with the interactive movie stuff and the other stupid arguments. It is a videogame, in every definition of the word. End of story.
And if you don't like a cut scene heavy game, than this is probably not your kind of game. If you don't like turnbased RPG's, you should avoid those kind of games.

I say that MGS4 is possibly the best game I have ever played.

No offense leo, but I don't think a demo for a game that came out six months ago is going to move much software (or hardware). If you wanted this game, you probably already bought it...

MGS4 is a good game but extremely overhyped, as it seems to be every game of this generation. The demo should generate a couple thousand more sales but unless all the best bits of the game have been put into the demo which they probably have done it will not cause a huge influx in sales.

Killzone 2, now that is a great game. :)

Thats what yo mama said before she demoed my Solid Snake. Seemed to changed her mind well enough....

OOOOOOOOOOH!

Sorry I saw an oppotunity for a solid snake joke there. I don't know your mother, but bet she is a great woman ;-D.

You pretty much didn't get Vamp's story at all.

The only 2 things explained in MGS4 are that 1- his [natural] healing abilities are enhanced by the nanomachines inside his body [which was a fan theory since MGS2 anyway] and 2 - runing on walls and water could have been (Otacon is just guessing at that point) a refinement of a prototip project he explains about (it's an optional codec scene).

Vamp could very well still be dependent on blood to survive as MGS2 shows us, definitelly has [super] natural healing abilities which are even more [super] due to the special nanomachines network inside him, powerful mental suggestion abilities, super human strenght and speed.

Nothing in MGS2 is contradicted, just given a bit more credibility.
