ROFLOL...LBP = good seller, but nothing great or A+...FACT.

It will pass 500k easily with Others numbers though, unless you were talking about JUST america for the 500k, which was expected by most.

I thought this was a thread discussing the sales of LBP so why the vitriol? Can't understand all the hate and wildly defensive statements. LBP was wildly overestimated in sales by some but that is taking nothing away from it as a game. People are being attacked for saying this but all they are doing is telling it like it is. Some of the responses are amusing but some are just downright annoying!

Yes, I was specifically talking about NA only. WW it won't sell 800k first week. Lifetime it won't break 3m. Maybe not even 2.5m.

EDIT: Wow I just looked. Taking Weeks 1 and 2 for NA and 1st weeks for the other regions it totals about 670k units. So, I was right.

1. Nobody ever claimed this game would sell 2 million the first week. Over 5 million LTD? Yes, but most people have always claimed this game will have long legs, and a merely "okay" opening.

2. All of those games you mentioned were marketed very little outside of Viva Pinata, and to a lesser extent Shadow of the Colossus. NONE of these were marketed to nearly the extent that LBP is being marketed. Also, VGChartz only has NA figures for Shadow, and the game likely broke 2 million worldwide.

LBP will NOT sell 5 million unless Sony goes thru extraordinary lengths to make it so...ie...basically giving the $hit away for free. BTW, I consider bundling games giving them away for free, especially when you have a standard console at a given price. I see 2-2.5 million LTD for LBP...maybe a bit more or less.
